Para Hills 5/156 (Rajeer 44, Barker 37*, Hartog 39) def. by Modbury 7/157 (Miller 91, Nicol 22, Box 2/20). Modbury's campaign will remain in the hands of Sam Miller. If he makes less than 50 they will probably lose, as they have very minimal depth, but they keep marching on. Who's favourite to win the comp now that we are down to the last 8 and Pooraka being eliminated?
Modbury are definitely riding Sam miller.. He's a class act, but can be got early! He backed 145 with 91no.. Not bad at all! Modbury definitely lack depth, but are a young side who seem to be on the improve, got a good win over unley on saturday. Will be interesting to see how they go V ingle sandercock.
I did hear there were almost violent scenes at para hills though? Para hills couldn't handle losing?
Definitely have a few handy young players. Elphick looks to be a tidy young bowler and can bowl tight at the death and Nicol is a handy bat, just needs a bit more consistency, but definitely a young team that will only improve if they can all stay together. definitely not close to any violent scenes (that i'm aware of). Just a case of two rivals going hammer and tongs and Sam Miller causing more than a few headaches. Other than that, just the standard sledging. Good to see some of the Modbury boys hanging around for a few beers though after an intense game.

How did you go, Harry?
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

How did you go, Harry?
Didn't bat, bowled 2 overs 0/15 (3 four's through vacant slip area off genuine outside edges) and took 2 catches. Had better days

While I agree the call last time was wrong, it is often based on a "ring around" to a few clubs who more often than not are happy to say no if they are up against a tough opponent, or say have a good player returning week 2, etc. Where the turf did get it wrong was when they also called off grounds with covers, that made no sense at all.
There's been consistent wind all morning (mid teens), so good drying conditions. Should be no different to week 2 last round and basically all games got on there so I'd expect it to be a report to ground situation, and the call will be left between the umpires and or captains.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!
ROCS all but sewn up minor premiership and promotion to A1 with 3 rounds to go. The only way this can change is if they lose their last 3 games and Marion win all theirs. Will not happen. I may be wrong but the last time ROCS were in A1 was 30 years ago. Great effort. The other form team in this grade are Port Districts. After losing their first 3 games they have won 5 on the trot. Might be hard to stop from here
