Talk that Rockliff is on a flight to Adelaide as we speak...

Thought the talk had moved on from the Rockliff to Adelaide story. Can't imagine Adelaide getting both Rockliff and Gibbs. If we do and it costs us a few picks and maybe a fringe player or two, I'll take my hat off to the recruiters. Just glad that with news Lyons and Ellis-Yolman want to stay, Henderson seemed happy to stay and with a few blokes requesting trades to Adelaide that we seem to have become a club that attracts.

Rumour was that Brisbane would be happy with a 2nd round pick for Rockliff.
Crows give up pick 13 + a player for Gibbs and pick 24
Crows on trade pick 24 + maybe a player for Rockliff

That would be a serious win for Adelaide IMHO. Personally, I think that deal suits Carlton too, but I seem to be in the minority there. Reckon Rockliff would have to be more than that, depending on the player. He's an All Australian and 27 by the time next season kicks off. Have to think the compensation if they lose him to free agency next year would be better than pick 24. The only way that deal makes any sense to me is if Brisbane have a sniff of compensation being taken out of the equation next year.

Strange signing. Mayne has always had the attributes to be such a good forward but has been mostly underwhelming really.

Think Cloke was on $800k and Swan would be on $600k plus

Was only on the back end of a 2 year deal so reckon he would have been on $400k max.

Cloke's $ for next year will need to be in their cap [the portion they are paying] even if he leaves

Collingwood will have nothing in their cap for Cloke, He will forego the money to continue his career, basically he is tearing up his own contract. That has been said already.
The talk is 400k for 2 years at the Dogs, hence why the Pies happy to trade him for a pick in the 70's

Yes, the outside mid i think we are looking for. While not super quick has always been good with hand and foot. Hopefully will compliment our inside mids (Crouch x2, Sloane) Could also go to Half Back and release a Smith or Laird into the midfield.

Happy to pay overs $$ as well if we have too, worth the risk IMO. Worked with Betts. I would also take the risk with Rockliff if we could get him/afford him. He didn't fly to Adelaide yesterday, he flew to Melbourne to meet with clubs where all the clubs officials are.

Also heard Carlton aren't as angry as they are making out to be as they wouldn't have been able to get the 3 GWS lads without giving up something.

This guy has some real grunt about him. I love his aggression and hardness at the ball and player. Just couldn't break back into our midfield after injury set him back. Will add good depth to the saints. I reckon he'd go for prob a third rounder...
