A medal is materialistic thing. Seriously he's got bigger things to hang his hat on.

Geezus, who cares about the medals!
I'd be more worried about the Tisot watch!

A dozen or so mates pitched in last year and got a mate a Tissot for his 50th. I did the shopping and picked it out, should have got one for myself!

Disagree, I think the Norm winner MUST be from the winning side. Can't cop a bloke whose team gets beat winning the medal.

As for Bevo's / Bob's medal. 22 players could give Bob the medal, doesn't make him a premiership player and he knows that. Beveridge can give his medal to whoever he wants.

And isn't Daisy coping with this unfamiliar territory well?

Be happy for your club like Presti or Egan instead of stealing the spotlight.
No doubt people will come for me because I just outed Bambi

Don't worry about outing Bambi, worry about McVeigh and Mills being picked and offering nothing. I would have thought Horse would know better, injured blokes don't get picked for finals.

McVeigh - old man with old man injury.

Mills - Didn't play a full game after round 19.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Probably need to get around to watching the game again without so much beer, but on the day I thought the Swans were fairly well bent over by the umps, and that's putting it mildly. However I thought the Dogs were clearly the better team. I could come up with a dozen or more of their players that made big contributions, and for Sydney only about 4. And therein lied the difference I reckon.

Plenty has been made of JJ, Bont, Picken. McRae, Boyd x2 etc, but I thought Roughead was really important for the Dogs, particularly in the first half.

at the party i was at, someone mentioned the discrepancy in the free kicks, and i wouldnt have believed it by watching. Didnt think the umps were a factor at all. But I also had a few under the belt too :D

Couldn't see the umpires making a difference, the Dogs were much better on the day, having said that there were a few howlers they missed or got wrong. Jack, for kicking in danger and Hannebery below the knees the standout. A Johannisen "mark" over Hannebery was also questionable.

Wasnt so much the discrepancy, just some that were paid that were plain wrong and costly.

Like I said, made no difference, Dogs were without question the better side imho.

Think Smith got one for a non-existent high tackle in the 3rd which he goaled from .. Beers well and truly had kicked in by then so would need to see it again. JPK got away with a HTB call in the 2nd quarter.

Anyway, was nice to have a GF that was alive with 10 mins to go

It shits me to tears when armchair footy coaches bang on about free kick counts. They are ******* useless without first to the ball statistics. You are far more likely to get a free kick if you are playing in front of your opponent....

Or if you're getting there 1st and diving on it, taking the opponent's legs and then receiving a free for high contact. The free to McLean against Jack was costly, resulted in dogs goal just before half time. Instead of swans being maybe 14 up they were 2 up.

I like Bob Murphy, felt sorry for him but it's not the first time a captain has missed a winning grand final, and won't be the last.

The one who I really did feel sorry for:

Exactly, also people forget the view we get on TV or at the ground is a lot of the time the exact opposite view the actual umpire gets.

Also I agree that if you have played a game in the premiership season you have contributed and should get a medal. Anyone that has been at a club that wins a premiership knows that to win a flag there are always heartbreak stories.

Beverage won't want the medal back, shows how much he cares about his players and why they play for him. He will win plenty more anyway IMO.

The medal is for the head coach of the side, not an injured player.
