Re: Port Adelaide 2016
How many port players had somewhere near a career best year?
Thats the most frustrating thing with them. If they all played well together they would be well in the top eight, which is why there is continual expectations placed upon them, but they havent done that for years

Well your not hearing his comments on non port games he is a blatant pro port media person and does say things about the crows
It's a fact
I was just saying things that do not attract non port fans to following port
And when I was working in a wharehouse full of port and crows fans after port win a showdown 6 times a day most of the following week the port song is played non stop crows win no song permitted
And I'm not being anti port just saying what goes on in the real world that isn't part of the port crowd
This flogging like a dead horse of that port Adelaide add on 7 and Foxtel is really shocking it must hurt people's decision to follow or not follow
Careful big fella with that chip on your shoulder we dont want to falling over and getting hurt again mate [emoji12]
If the Port song is an issue at your factory or the one you used to work at you should have a word to you manager, im not sure its a deep seeded plot by Port to get you to support them.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Re: Port Adelaide 2016
Carey's spot on, irrelevant.
Even Ruccis part correct saying with its slogans and trademarks all now worthless.
Don't compare them with Brisbane, Brisbane are the biggest club in Brisbane, the Power aren't even the biggest club to have played at Alberton.
33K on a mild Saturday night at the best venue in the world and people laughed at me two years ago when I said the novelty of Adelaide Oval would wear off.
It's not all doom and gloom though, the Power's work with the indigenous communities is sensational, whoever runs those programs is clearly the standout of the organisation.
Even Ruccis part correct saying with its slogans and trademarks all now worthless.

JK wrote:Who gets a pass mark for the season Booney?
DBJ, Hombsch, Trengove, Gray, Ebert, Young, Krakeour?
For mine JK, I'd give the following a pass mark.
Trengove - Battled manfully as a one man ruck battery, under sized, perhaps developed a new part to his game and play as a 6' 9" midfielder, his stoppage work excellent.
Wines - Our leading possession winner, despite his disposal efficiency being down he's one who puts his body on the line week in week out. Further comments to come.
Pittard - He would have been clear as our BnF leader in round 8-10, he's dropped off a little with his attacking run since then.
DBJ - The find of 2016 for Port, been really solid across half back, shows he's a kid we can count on when the chips are down, gives his all.
Ebert - I'll make further comments later, but should never have been removed as vice captain, gives his all every week.
R.Gray - Not at his absolute best this year, but still does his part in clearances and creating some excitement around the group.
From your list JK, Hombsch hasn't been seen since round 10, Young has had a break out year and might be unlucky to not be mentioned above, Krakouer missed a game for a funeral and didn't come straight back into the side, something was up there.
I'll probably go a little harder in my wash up later, but I'm going to say now the move of making Hartlett vice captain ahead of Ebert and Wines has been a disaster, Boak has clearly been below his best, serviceable, but below his best and his job as captain must also be assessed over the summer ahead.
You'll note that none of the players I mentioned are in our forward half, Dixon was on track for 40+ goals and 20+ games, he dried up before the Kangaroos game and then rolled the ankle on Tarrant's foot. Clearly under done and shouldn't have played Saturday night against Melbourne. As such, Mathew Nicks role as forward coach must come under review, we've lacked structure forward of the ball for weeks now, the backs look up and see nothing to kick to, we go for the shorter tougher kick, miss is and turn the ball over where we are killed every week.
While Voss has missed his main key ( Ryder ) this year our midfield still has Boak, Ebert, Gray, Wines and enough midfield depth to match it with the sides around the bottom half of the top 8. There's the kicker. Touted as a premiership chance in the summer we were massively over rated by most. Massively. We are, right now, about where we should be, outside the 8 watching on over the next 6 weeks like the rest of the also rans.

If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

I'm not going to start the cycle of eating our own, but you're wrong there. Brisbane are by the length of the Flemington straight the most irrelevant club in the competition. Non football state, shit house off field, shit house on field, no members ( just over 21,000 ) and along with the Gold Coast a massive head ache for the AFL.
On field we're poor right at the moment, very poor, off field we've made massive head roads with members, sponsors and turning a massive loss upon loss into a profit and debt reduction is the next step in the process. David Koch and Keith Thomas are the men to lead us to stability off the field.
To say we're irrelevant only feeds the trolls on here who are all too happy to kick Port while we're down.

Drunk and angry? You bet I was, picking up some funds from the casino didn't hurt, but it didn't soothe the pain either.
If we adopt the defeatist attitude that we did in '11 and '12 we'll end up as we did back in '11 and '12.

Numbers across the board are down, this year first time the competition average looks like it will be below 32,000 since 2012 and this year at 32,020 it's the lowest in modern times. In fact, with plenty of rubbish fixtures to come in the last two weeks it will drop well below 32,000 for the first time ever ( since the 90's anyway, I haven't gone back through records further than that ) by the looks of it. ( 2012 - 31,508 average )
Ports crowds down around 1500 on last years average.

I commend your attitude Booney. In light of all the trolling and crap you get on here you still front up.
Well done and keep going, supporters like yourself are what keeps clubs going through the bad times. Good on you.

Would have thought beating Melbourne would be a good start along the road to being a club.
Even Essendon could do it
