Round 19 with alacrity
Different approach this week....4/9 last week and a busy week, well, not so much busy week but big weekend and I couldn’t be arsed Monday and Tuesday night doing anything but helping my liver recover.
Geelong v Dogs –
Catters had the big win over the Crows, Boris Enright taking ownership of the Crows forward half, the Dogs got rolled by the Saints and lost two key soldiers to long term injuries.
Top 4 shaping contest this one, I think the Cats will take the top 4 spot and make it hard for the Dogs to get back into that mix. Bartel’s 300th,Boris breaks the Cats games record. They won’t let him down this time.
Geelong by 19 points. ( Cats $1.29 Dogs $3.65 )
GWS v Richmond –
The Giants were down against Port early before they took the game on and rolled the Power, the Tigers were ordinary even by their standards against the Hawks. 70 point loss almost flattering.
Another one that will impact on the top 4, this should get the Giants set in the top 4 with an easy draw to come.
Giants easy, by 48 points. ( GWS $1.10 Richmond $7 )
Hawks v Carlton –
Mitchell’s 300th was more than enough for the Hawks to get up and about, thumping the Tigers by 70 points as the Blues battled manfully up in Sydney, went down by just one sausage roll.
Two games clear on top and it should stay that way, unless the Blues pull off one major upset. Bolton’s first assignment against his former side, he’ll know how they play....won’t matter.
Hawks by 27 points. ( Hawks $1.06 Blues $9 )
Collingwood v West Coast –
The Pies went the body last week and forgot about the ball and paid the penalty, 40 points losers. West Coast couldn’t shake off and then couldn’t put away the Demons, just the one major in it at the end.
Collingwood seduced many, me included, by their form leading into last week. The Eagles are limp away from home, so who is it?
Gut feel says the Eagles, head says the Pies will bounce back. Collingwood by 11 points. ( Pies $2.25 Eagles $1.65 )
Brisbane v Port –
Where did that come from? Big winners in Melbourne over the Bombers. Port good early, not sighted late against the Giants at home. Too much for too few to do.
The shit part about this one for Port fans, we know we’re capable of losing this one when we should win without much trouble. Nan Boon in the house for this one. At least someone will be there.
Port, please. 20 points the final margin. ( Lions $6.00 Port $1.13 )
North v St Kilda –
North finally stood up last week, the 40 point win over the Pies stopped the rot. St Kilda keep on marching in, 15 points over the Dogs in extenuating circunstances.
Big week for the Roos, all eyes on Boomer and doesn’t he love it? St Kilda the chance to keep the race for the 8 alive....
North deserve to be favourites, can they keep the eye on the prize around the Boomer record? Must win the milestone game and end the Saints run at 8th. A MUST win.North by 15.( North $1.55 St Kilda $2.45 )
Melbourne v Gold Coast –
Good effort in Perth by the Demons, a goalless last quarter the difference in a tight one, down by a goal. The Suns big men far too good for Fremantle, 4 goal winners.
The trip to Perth might zap the Melbourne legs a bit, the trip to Melbourne is never friendly for the Suns. Melbourne’s back men with the job to do, the midfielders should help them by winning it in there.
Melbourne too good in the clinches here, Suns forwards might get enough supply though. Melbourne by 13 points. ( Melbourne $1.20 Gold Coast $4.60 )
Fremantle v Sydney –
The Dockers left some big bodies home last week and under sized never looked likely, 4 goal losers as the Swans went a few more rounds than they would have liked with the Blues, one goal winners.
Pav’s 350th, the Swans without a ruckman, but it is 3rd and 16th. Will Super Pav’s big one be enough? Unlikely. The Swans mids too good here.
Sydney to feed Big Bud the Sherrin and he’ll bag out. Sydney by 28 points. ( Fremantle $4.15 Sydney $1.23 )
Adelaide v Essendon –
Unhappy hunting at the Cattery for 14 years straight, locked up at half back and went down by 5 goals. Congratulations to the spoon winners 2016, Essington.
The run came to an end and so did the run from half back, forced sideways they didn’t like it. The Bombers made some history, first spoon in 80 odd years with a stinker against the Lions. Terrible ball use.
Won’t be pretty here, Adelaide will be looking for some blood. Adelaide big. 74 points. ( Adelaide $1.01 Essendon write your own ticket. )
Punting value –
Not much in the way of “upsets” this week I don’t think, but what the f**k would I know anyway....
St Kilda could throw a spanner in Boomers works and this should be close. Either team under 15.5 points $2.75 looks tempting.
Port should account for the Lions, $2.40 for 1-39 the bet I think. Won’t be more than 40 points, depending which Lions and Port sides roll up though.
Gold Coast a sneaky chance if the mid’s can get the big men enough ball? Either team under 15.5 points $3.75.
Fremantle will play ugly, Sydney won’t be upset by that. Sydney 1-39 $1.91

Not so sure about that, my missus doesn't appreciate it that much....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Port haven't won at the Gabba since 2007, but have only played there 3 times since.

Re: Round 19 with alacrity
Saints have won 7 of their last 9 games, 2 or those victories were top 8 sides in geelong and bulldogs, lost to crows and suns (away)
North have won 2 of their last 8 games and beat collingwood and richmond only, but were defeated by port, west coast, crows, hawks, cats, swans
- says anyone with hope of making finals will beat north

Of the Saints wins the Cats one is the most impressive, I think the win over the Dogs was in part influenced by the night the Dogs had. They would have been ( and by the sounds of it were ) a shattered group on Saturday night.
North's form last week was much better than the week before against Port and it is, bar a GF, the biggest game in the clubs history IMO. They simply can't let Boomer down.
North 7 from 11 at Etihad this year, Saints 8/11.

Going this weekend and taking a jar of Vaseline for good luck. Going to be absolutely reamed. If the Crows want to they are every chance of breaking their record winning margin

percentage is crucial too, so I really do hope we sink the boot in. We need to make a statement after last week, not just meander

Danger game for the cats. Bulldogs will be up and about and will want to prove a point. This will go right down to the wire
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Re: Round 19 with alacrity
Cats should win comfortably. This I felt was a danger game leading into the last time we played them when we smashed them.
The Dogs are being Euthanasied by the RSPCA and the Cats should easily account for them tomorrow night. Conditions are what will keep the margin down.
GWS easily here 40+
Hawks 60+
Pies v West Coast, no idea here. Probably the Eagles...just
Freo v Swans - Dockers will be up and about, but the Swans and their class edge should see them win. 4 goals
Lions v Port - a no interest match here. Go Lions. 7pts
Roos v Sainters - which team of either will show up?? Could be a cracker or just a poor run of the mill match. Roos surely have more to play for and win by 4 goals.
Dees v Sun's - For the Dees development they should win here, 4 goals.
Crows v Bombers - another lowlight - crows by 79

I hope you're right. I remember last year for boris 300th and bulldogs are a lot better team than Melbourne were last year. I'm pretty good with my cats tips so let's see. I'm hoping im wrong.
