Blind freddie could see he should have been off.

you would wanna hope he doesnt have any long lasting effects after retirement, seems like they could have opened themselves up to a big lawsuit

not really correct. they said their decision was fine, they should have waited 15 minutes (so doc can see footage), and told the fourth umpire. Im sure if this was done, he still would have come back on, has had no negative side effects after or this week apparently

From what I read into it he still passed the test but because the highest ranking medical officer was busy with Brad Ebert they have simply neglected to tell the interchange steward what was going on.
Trust me 2 major injuries in a short space of time would cause chaos on the bench.
There's a reason for the 15 minute rule and Port ignored that. No excuses and to be honest they've gotten off lightly. If the main doctor was too busy then why wouldn't they wait? They knew he had a head knock. If the person who looked at Hartlett was suitably qualified then he should know darn well what the protocol is. Worst thing was Port kept trying to pull the old "nothing to see here" line when surely they knew they'd messed this up. Mistakes happen, for sure. Usually those mistakes don't involved head injuries though but ultimately, the best thing Port could have done come Monday was to admit the error.

You do realise there's protocol which every club has agreed to and that most clubs adhere to?
Yes I do. Ports stuff up was an administrative issue, not a medical issue
Head in sand, eh? If it was just a matter of passing the test, then the AFL would require that to be the only thing. They don't. They want doctors to see footage because a test alone isn't comprehensive enough. I imagine that the 15 minutes is also to make sure the doctor can observe them for longer too. An administrative issue would be getting the bloke's number wrong, or spelling his name wrong. To just skip over an important part of the assessment is 100% a medical issue.

Won't get me giving you anything to make your melon swell any larger. Port ****** up and we copped the penalty. Hard for you to appreciate I'm sure, you'd not be familiar with someone ******* up and getting penalized.

No boon they are a family club. Hodgey and Hill are good blokes.

Quality post. The melon, the language, the accuracy, the hummanity.
Ebert and Krakouer will be back in this week, who comes out? Ah Chee for Ebert and S.Gray for Krakouer I think.
Also have a feeling Lobbe might come straight in, he was ok against the Eagles at Alberton on Sunday and while Jacko has been super for us we need him down back with Cameron and Patton lurking around the forward half for GWS. He can still pinch hit, with Westy, but I think we need him down back for the last 6 weeks to sure up our back half.
Jonas and Hombsch are both a couple of weeks away but it's really crunch time now and a win against the slightly vulnerable GWS side who didn't play well here a month or so ago and have since lost to Collingwood is a must.
PORT Adelaide has ruled forward Charlie Dixon out of Sunday’s clash with Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval.
Dixon left the field during the final quarter of Saturday’s game after North Melbourne’s Robbie Tarrant landed on his left ankle in a marking contest.
High Performance Manager Darren Burgess says scans yesterday showed an injury to the upper part of the ankle.
“Because of the nature of the injury it’s difficult to say exactly when he’ll be back but we’ll rehabilitate him as quickly as possible without risking any further damage,” Burgess said.
“This is a new injury, a trauma injury, and fortunately has nothing to do with the ankle problems Charlie’s had in the past.”
Thanks to the sponsor sites specials have been backing Port in various guises past 3 weeks, 1st two close but got money back & finally got the $3.20 on offer last week. Managed to get $6 for the 8 just before quarter time on Saturday & had another dip at $5 after the game. Good value I reckon Dixon or not.
Dixon out..... Who comes in? Surely a tall? Lobbe to ruck and perhaps Trengove forward? Or do they bring in Butcher to assist Shultz and Westhoff? 3 talls seems to work for them.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Anyones guess. Pretty sure Lobbe comes in now, Trengove back, maybe Stewart forward to play the third man role.
