What a round it was in Division III last weekend. Seven of the nine matches were decided by less than 30 points with some crucial results coming in. This would have to be the closest round I can recall in Hogg history. It was indeed advantage Hawkers as they defeated the Shiners by a mere 11 points in the top of the table clash. The Hawkers now have a very handy two game gap at the top of ladder going into the bye weeks.

To be keeping up with the Joneses in this division you need to have a 6-4 record altough 5-5 and even 4-6 wouldn't rule you out this early. I couldn't predict who would be in the top four next week let alone at the end of the season..it would be Hawkers and three other dudes that's all I could say. Winners this week who moved up were the Spankers who just got up over the luckless Greedy Guns who would be one of the unluckiest 1-9 teams going around. Summer of George and The Willies also capitalised with close wins which have moved them up into the top bracket. Good old Summer of George always seems to do well in the minor round at least and after a wobbly start the Georgies are now sitting near their customary position on the ladder.

Magpie Mafia and Wadey's Warriors continued on their resurgence and Blighty Teasdale aren't going anywhere either so it all adds up to one hell of a race for finals and later on promotion spots. At the arse end poor ol BigShow is pretty close to drawing the final curtain as the Greedy Guns just can't get the W and they an improbable two games off 17th spot. Northern Cats are showing signs of life with their third win in five games and if Andy can get back to last year's form then league ranking could get a real boost. Onewinwonders copped (by this rounds standards) a hefty defeat and slumped to second last and Right Nut is probably even more unlucky than Greedy Guns considering Righty are ranked second in scoring in the league. There are going to be four very unlucky teams to get relegated from this league that is for sure.

Better team won in the end. Im sure I will get a win again this season........well I hope so anyway.
