Things that make you sad.

A chap who played a large part in my (limited) cricket career passing away last week after a short illness.

Early 1990's he took on a group of pretty rough young lads, Friday nights and Saturdays were one and the same to most of us, with the aim of making us the next generation of leaders.
Several of that young team went on to captain sides, captain premiership sides and continue the club culture that the next generation learnt from us and it carries on into today.

Great batsman, excellent, yet easily angered captain ( ) and a ripping fellow.

RIP Dave.

Yes there are endless benefits to the move but it's sad that's what a lot of sports have come to if you want to be competitive

What a shitty windy day.

Went out to freeling today to help the old man collect some firewood. He lives in the town but was going to clean up a mates paddock that had a bunch of trees burnt by the bushfires.

He had cut a lot of it up into big bits about a month ago and we were going to pick it up with the loader.

In that time the wood laying on the ground was half buried by sand and dust.

Today it was that windy that we couldn't see because of all of the dust.

We were out there for an hour before we bailed. My eyes and ears are full of dust and we could hardly see the house a few hundred metres away.

Just made me think of all the guys out there that lost their houses and then months later still have to deal with stuff like that. I was over it in half an hour, imagine living out there and looking at Mars out your front window. And dust in the house daily.

Because this time it's obviously meant to be racist.

I think most people would like to give a young girl the benefit of the doubt about saying something she didn't know could be considered racist.
