Re: Southern Football League
Across A's B's C's and 18's there is a total of 7 clubs in the top 4 with three of those clubs only in only one of the respective top 4's
That makes the remaining clubs being Brighton, Flagstaff Hill, Happy Valley and Reynella
Can anyone see the any of the above flags not going to these four clubs? Is that a problem this early in the year?

You can't do much about poorly run clubs. Put the right people in at the top and the rest will look after itself

With the unlimited amount of juniors they are allowed to stockpile I can't see it changing in the near future.

Explain your stockpiling juniors comment CF.
Do you seriously think if there was a cap on the amount of juniors for each SFL club that kids would choose to come and play at other clubs? Kids choose to play where there friends are, where there is a well organised junior program with good facilities.
Stop blaming the successful clubs and look in your own backyard to see why your club doesn't have the same level of success.

Spot on F&F. Kids will not go somewhere because of a cap on players.. They go to a well run program with mates.. There are a few examples of clubs where the wrong decisions were made and the junior program went down hill at a great rate of knots.

I agree with no-one outside of these clubs can win the flag this year or possibly in the next 5 years. Look at the GF finalist in A, B and 18's last season, won't be too much different this year.
Brighton v Reynella - A's
Brighton v Reynella - B's
Brighton v Flagstaff Hill - 18's
I hope I'm wrong (Christies have a chance in the B's) but the situation is only going to get worse when clubs can submit an unlimited number of under 8's teams which flows onto multiple teams in the older age groups when some clubs can even fill one side. With salary cap and the points system it makes it very hard for these clubs in the bottom half to improve at the same rate as the top half, not saying they can't improve but just not at the same rate.
Don't be too quick to sprout the quality of some of the junior systems if you can't fit the teams on your oval to train or have to play home games at alternative venues and have to use bins as goals.

Re: Southern Football League
It doesn't just happen, some of these clubs didn't always have good junior systems or numbers, through hard work over a period of time it can change at any club. The positive is there are plenty of numbers out there, clubs just need to work out how to capture them. Get a good Auskick program up and running and word gets around pretty quickly.

I will inform Bazz to just turn up on Saturdays and go through the motions !
Can we have Lonsdale's , Aldinga's , Marion's points allocation ?
I thought we all have the same salary cap!
But we do have a draw based on some sort of warm fuzzy feel good let them have a win!!!

Re: Southern Football League
That was his point everyone has the same salary cap and points, so the clubs who are in the dominate positions through hard work are able to build on that with the same restrictions as a team that is struggling. So those sides are coming from a fair way back and trying to play catch up.

Re: Southern Football League
What players will make up the association squad this year? Lots of news faces. Will be interesting to see how they handle it.

As an example Reynella have about 200 minis this year going by team registrations. They will probably require about 50 of these to play Senior footy in 10-12 years time. Plus about 30 from the 100 kids playing 14's to 18's now. So they can pick the cream of the crop to be a powerful force for years to come and the others can retire or go play seniors elsewhere.I hope that explains it?
And about 220 of the current Under 8's to 18's out there will not be playing Senior footy at their current club. And BTW I only think a cap might work on under 8's as you can't expect current Mini's to move clubs.

Re: Southern Football League
Are you assuming that all of these kids are going to still be playing football at senior age CF? From my experience the average for football as a game being successful in retaining these kids would be at best 30% - 40%. As the lads get older girls, cars, other sports etc, take them away from our game. I believe if your club can get one to two good A' Grade players a year from your junior program then you have a successful program. Some years are more fruitful than others. But the beauty of getting these young kids coming through your ranks is that they are generally more loyal to your club than any recruit will ever be and usually cost a lot less.

Re: Southern Football League
A while back there was a study that showed only about 8% of juniors go on to play senior football

Re: Southern Football League
CF Reynella, Flaggies, Valleys and Brighton could all have a cap on their minis and it wouldnt make a scrap of difference to your club mate and if you think any different you are in denial
Sick of clubs blaming others for their problems when they could have double the points and salary cap and still not attract players in juniors or seniors.
If Lonsdale were serious about becoming a stronger club they would have gone ahead with the rumoured merge with Cove or Hackam last year but instead you hear them carry on about how they have already merged and why should they have to do it twice?
If the SFL had any balls they would force the issue but they are part of the problem Too many maroon coats wearing their Lonsdale heart on their sleeve](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)
