I'm guessing the electronic tickets are predominately for members/prepaid 'season' tickets. Wouldn't the clubs (and the league by extension) have this kind of personal info already? In time I guess they could generate stats about attendance patterns, but that would take years. I'm also not sure how a one-off entry would collect any valuable info.

So you are saying that you are looking forward to those people who understand it, complaining about it. Maybe they would have a point then, if they understand it and still feel the need to complain about it.
