I doubt it. You don't think Garry is in on those jokes? That's the whole premise of this show...take the piss out of each other. Just like TripleM.

It's no coincidence that Lyon, JB and Brownless are all single men. You can't live that lifestyle and expect a partner to be sitting at home waiting for you.

Or having to share hosting rights with a w@nker like Brayshaw.

PS @MW - I think WUB was taking the mickey. ;)

lol yeah prob. Interesting though that they call him Grumpy Garry all the time. I think that shows more the type of guy he is off camera and what type of issues he is dealing with personally.

I actually don't mind Brayshaw and co on the footy show! I enjoy the show BUT last years season was by far their worst.

Brayshaw drives me bonkers, he comes across as if he wants the popular kids in school to accept him into their group. Lyon is more natural, easygoing and casual.

My DVR keeps recording the FS (and I'm too lazy to change the settings) and so I end up watching it later that night. I can do it in about 10 minutes because I fast-forward to the news-update bit in the middle, Almost Footy Legends, and maybe Street Talk. I might watch the main interview if it's someone interesting. Otherwise the rest is filler, blokey antics and crap gags (The Big Brother house send-up, for example, or Sam Newman and Dane Swan conversing on a road trip or playing golf - wtf?) that have no bearing on footy and which I'd rather do without. Anyway, my off-topic rant is now over. Back to mental health.

Sucked in Garry, good luck finding work that's paid you similar to what you've been paid and you've lost the respect of those around you who used to look up to you.

I couldn't give a toss how hot any of my mates missus' are, they are no go zones, together or not together anymore.

Reading a David Schwarz article on the matter explained a fair bit of it, I must say that I admired Sam Newman's self appraisal on the matter.

Along the lines of he is the last person who should be handing out life advice and hopefully from a professional perspective, the situation can be resolved soon as both are integral to the running of the show.

The footy show will be doing their best to get both back for this season

Think of the initial ratings with them both on the show together

Seems odd mate. Maybe just keep adding your opinion and we will all move past this awkward moment [emoji12]

Dont know about that. Would turn out to be 2 old blokes punching on. With Brayshaw as the mediator.

Actually thats already sounding better.

You can't see Lyon and Brownless bouncing jokes off each other, one of them is never too return, and I dare say it will be Brownless when Lyon comes back. Crawf plays the dumb shit well enough. Billy is finished. They cannot lose the chemistry between Lyon and JB as hosts with Sam.

Perhaps Channel Nine should realise that this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, accept that the Footy Show's time has come, and in its place put on a show where ex-footy players redecorate a house or bake a cake or try to shag a farmer (and flash the weekend's teams up for twenty seconds like the lotto numbers).

Good post.
Gary Lyon has made a good living out of taking the p*ss out of people on the footy show and when it's his turn to stand up and admit he f*cked up........he goes into hiding and cites 'mental illness'.
He's as weak p*ss!!
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

It's a strange thing that we feel he has to stand up and admit he fu&ked up to us, the public.
I'd think the people he needs to stand up to are his friends, family and colleagues. Do you think he's citing 'mental illness' to get away from them?
How do you know that this situation hasn't precipitated the mental health issues? You don't. Neither do I.
I don't like people hiding behind mental illness (if they are). I'm not defending it.
But none of us know if he's "hiding" none of our business - either his mental illness, or whatever preceded it.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
