2016 state footy
Given that there's bugger all else to talk about, lets have a bit of fun with who may potentially make the open age team for 2016 to play VIC.

I would add PAOC new gun recruit, perhaps Jimmy can tell us about him
I think he may have been running around at Norwood last year

Re: 2016 state footy
One idea would be for them to do what the AFL is trying with the International Rules and just select as many of the past season's Team of the Year as possible

true dat - but if between September and March, if we had 2 former AFL/SANFL players come into the ranks, would you forgo a TOTY player for the AFL/SANFL dude?

Yeah, let them wait until they've played a year in the League first.

Put the game in September and pick the Kilburn side. Chics don't lose in September.

Ah I get it, Interstate Game, as in playing a team from interstate.
Calling it the State Team is a bit self indulgent as it is just an interleague match

not reall,y as each team is representing their state, like that State Country team - not sure it is a massive deal for anyone other than yourself
they also pick all Australian players as well.....http://www.adelaidefootball.com.au/saaf ... habetical/

Re: 2016 state footy
so based on your definition, there has never been a game of state footy, as even the SANFL only represent one comp

You could argue that the SANFL is the peak body in the state, and certainly pre-1991 a rep team from the SANFL would have been the best players in the state, and as a result could justifiably be called a "State team"
C9AFL is not even close to any of that

Whatever you want to call it, just make sure you call us undefeated champions at it, because that's what we are
