Sad thing though, is some kids who love footy just don't identify with the SANFL at all anymore. I recently asked a couple of lads in year 7 who they followed, they answered Carlton and Geelong. When I asked about the SANFL they just looked lost.

Thats been the case for years. I recall being miffed about a decade ago, when at Norwood they had some day with all the zone kids out, and only 2 of them could name the Norwood captain (Brett James). Only a handful knew who Garry McIntosh was aswell.

The continuation of the current system is only going to cement this as the norm into the future, which must raise serious questions as to the long-term sustainability of the clubs, particularly in terms of membership and their overall relevance in the sporting landscape.

Agree completely mate, unfortunately. Gotta find a way to alter it, somehow ..

Me too. No point being upset that they don't listen to us and then say nothing when they ask. History suggests they won't change anything no matter what we say, but at least can say something

Last year I got a call asking if I wanted to renew my membership, I said no and they hang up! Would have thought they would have at least asked why....

Unless you were the first to be called they would have know the answer and they would have heard it quite a lot before they got to the H's
