Little Akie is a good one mate - always gives an honest/gutsy effort and not a stranger to the winning line.

Like Fast 'n' Rocking @ Mooney Valley tomorrow (Race 6) thought his run in the Regal Roller was good - thought his condition gave out the last 200m.
2 other interesting runners in the Race IMHO - Solsay, up in Class, but what a record here... the other is William's mount Fast Cash.

Same as last week - gunna wait for the 'Power Price' hoping for $12 & $3.50
Has his share of weight but the fact they've scratched the Filly should give some lead here too.

Heard trainer of Fell Swoop this morning - he's confident.
I am always wary when Sydney Horses are running Anti-Clockwise for the 1st time - Mooney Valley is also another problem for the favorite.

I'm hoping they go hard up front & Fast 'n' Rocking is tracking Fell Swoop between the 800 & the 400 - hopefully Walker will get him a 'cart' into the race behind the favorite around the turn & use the 'camber' to swoop down the outside.

Some good value to be had yesterday in Sydney - In the Tramway I liked the early $26 & $7 for the QLD Horse Rudy - he's into $17 & $5 now with the added rain. Tough race - happy to watch. Chelmsford looks tough too - Waller has too many runners for my liking.

Has anyone purchased a Private Marque at the races? What are the costs?
I'm thinking of one for Clare Cup.

I did one at Balaklava Cup. Mini marquee, fit 22 people (could have fit about 30), got three kegs of beer, provided our own meat, BBQ and snacks.

So for thee kegs of beer, marquee hire and entry ticket price, worked out to about $66 a head. Charged $80 to include the food cost but ended up with some wriggle room. Clare's a good club, Tanya will look after you.

The great man Dodgingandweaving has put this tip up on Twitter:

"I know it was only Mount Isa, but if you saw the ease of Craiglea Cruz's last-start win, you wouldn't hesitate taking the $4.8 (R4 Cairns)."
