MOVEMENT AT CARLTON??

Postby SCD » Fri Jul 20, 2007 2:58 pm

Some stong whispers and rumours here in melbourne this afternoon that in the next 90 minutes or so (about 4pm) Pagan will leave the club - to be replaced by Brett Ratten in the interim...

If this is the case - wonder if Pagan is looking at either the Freo or Melbourne position (think he would fit in terrific at Fremantle!!)

Geez, what would that be - 3 coaches gone? Melbourne, Freo and now Carlton. Could be an interesting off-season...

Once one coach goes it realy is a game of Poker by the coaches and clubs to protect their own interests to get the best position for themselves for next year....to be honest I dont think anyone could do any better than Pagan at Carlton....shes a reall long term project down there

agree Dutchy - Pagan has been delt a bad hand at Carlton - from draft restrictions in the strong draft going back a few years to the Barry Mitchell fiasco - would be good for a change though and get him at a club with a better talent pool (at the moment) to see how the job he goes to does

Carlton should get rid of Pagan, he has been there for ages and i haven't seen any improvement in the club, they are still sitting at the bottom end...

I think Pagan will go, but seasons end....I feel there has been no improvement on last year.
A couple of good results far outweighed by alot of shockers...
Ratts would be a very good coach...Tough as nails, and one of the best midfielders to EVER
don the old dark navy blue...

I am not totally convinced of Pagans credentials as a coach in relation to "Building a side". I am convinced that if he has a first class group of players that he can coach in such a way that wins finals and premierships.

Alistair Clarkson seems to have made a case that he has the credentials to build a bottom side into a competitive top eight side.

The Crows seem to have a reasonable list, it could be interesting to see who would do better with the side, Pagan or Craig?
