So what exactly are people suggesting here, everyone's beating around the bush somewhat?
Hope he can recover soon and give Sydney some return on their 100million investment.
Doesnt look like it will be this year that the Swans get one of the 2 or 3 flags that Buddy and Tippet were meant to deliver.

any chance you not being an arrogant fool every time you post? I know it's hard for you but give it crack

From what i heard, alledegly the situation is very similar to Ben Cousins in that it was very well known by the AFL and Hawthorn of the problems he had, a combination of his on field ability and his star power to attract people to games it appears these issues he was suffering from were somewhat hidden, swept under the carpet, not attended to as attently as they should have because of the overriding benefit to the other parties.

From what ive been told is that why there was always rumous persisting Sydney were assured by various parties that these rumours were nothing more than just rumours.

Imho this is gonna play out in a huge way and may see both Hawthorn and the AFL in some serious strife.

I think it was well known to many that Buddy was close if not over the 3 strike mark.

I have no doubt he wouldve had a strike or two against his name or maybe even more but if the clubs arnt informed supposedly when this happens how would Hawthorn know? It could only be on rumour that anyone has any suspicions, he's hardly going to tell the club he's into drugs in his spare time if that was the case

Oh you mean just like the arrogant **** that recruited him and Tippet and then got ass raped by the AFL for doing so :D
Have you blokes realized you need defenders to win flags yet?

Agree with all that, there are some rumors floating around though that he did make a cry for help and didn't receive the attention most would think is required.

I forgot which year it was but i heard that he had his 3rd strike but seeing as he was the best player in the game it went under the carpet. They made him take time off and the club said he had that hamstring issue to cover it.

Andy D strikes again if this comes true.

His short sighted running of the game whilst in charge is going to haunt Gill And already is with crowds.

I remember when Wellingham was living with him and couldn't wake him up on game day and had to call the Hawks and tell them he wasn't coming in today.

It's a win win situation, really depend on the side. I rate both very highly

Just on the buddy franklin issue - I'm impressed the footy community is at a point where people with mental health issues aren't ridiculed, because i don't think that was the case even 5 years ago.

Still got a long way to go on the two big ones though, racism and sexism
