How many Aussies are playing County cricket at the moment?

How about they do a Mike Whitney or a Shaun Young?

Actually, Whit was playing club cricket when he got called up...

Is it just me or is this looking like a day night test

F@cken 2 day test

It looks like the first Day/Night Test came early.

It will be over within an hour on Day 3...

You are deluded MT79, Nevill is a far better cricketer than Wade.

If he could hit the pitch more often we would of been batting again yesterday. Bowls far too much tripe

Yep. One-day bowler IMO. He shouldn't be in the same team as Johnson, and I'd prefer guys like Cummins, Pattinson, Faulkner, Bird, even Cutting, Siddle etc. to him.

Starc is 25. Has played 20 tests. Taken 76 wickets. Has been in and out. Let him play consistent test cricket and learn the caper, without fear of omission. His next 20 tests, injury free, he will take more than double this tally. I predict, 40 test mark, he will have close to 200 test wickets.
Cummins and Pattison are talented, but made of chalk, Faulkner isn't a test player, Cutting struggles to get a game for QLD. Siddle is finished. Bird was unlucky to get injured when he did and Hazelwood has gone past him, but Hazelwood is no walk up start.

I beg to differ. He has a FC average of 24 with the ball, an economy rate of under 3 and a S/R of 49. His wickets were instrumental in Tasmania winning the Shield twice. I know Bellerive is a bowler's deck but he has nevertheless stood out in a good Shield side. He performed well in his only test and since then has somehow not been given another opportunity.

Seems better with the ball than marsh and not much worse with the bat. Would probably bat 7 though

Burns may not be the panacea, and his innings against India didn't prove one way or the other, but surely to Christ he was a better option that Sean Marsh.

When was the last time four different bowlers took five wickets in successive innings against an opposition?

Rogers, Warner, Clarke, Voges and Nevill showed some resolve, but three of those four wickets just before tea showed no value for their wicket.

Overall as a contest this series has been very disappointing. First test was competitive but almost always in England's favour, and third test for a while when we were trying to restrict their first innings lead, but very little tense, which-way-will-this-go cricket.

Will this Test make it to lunch on the 3rd day. I'm thinking no.

I still dare to dream we could find away with some kind of magical lower order cameo and a strong partnership from the two at the crease. The problem with my fantasy is I can't see us bowling the Poms out for under 150 and certainly not 60

Yep time for Pup to call it a day unfortunately. Was a pleasure to watch his whole career, have some very fond memories of his batting, bowling and fielding. I'm having a beer for Pup tonight, thanks for your contribution to Australian cricket. On the other hand I'm drowning my sorrows after this loss, a very dark day for Australian cricket :(

I just turned on the cricket and it's not on.

Checked the scores online. Another iron willed effort on day 3

2 days and what 30 minutes. Have we ever lost or even won in quicker time....Disgusting.

Send them all of them home and give Australia A a crack at them in the 5th test with Pup to Captain in his final test. The worrying thing is being a dead rubber SMarsh will probably play make a ton and be hanging round the group for another 5 years.

I truly expected us to retain the Ashes. FFS all we had to do was draw the series.

It has been a horrible day in sport. :(
