You wouldn't be on your Pat Malone there. I thought Freo were going to be a top side this year. Little wonder that Cuddles is gone. I jokingly told a Freo bloke online to watch out for the 'Geelong 2006' syndrome LOL. Jinxed his a55.

My predictions...

Geelong 72
Hawthorn 64
Collingwood 60
Kangaroos 60
Sydney 56
Port 56
West Coast 52
Adelaide 48
--------------
Bulldogs 44
St Kilda 44

1st Weeks of Finals
EF's
Sydney vs Adelaide
Port vs West Coast
QF's
Geelong vs Kangaroos
Hawthorn vs Collingwood

This is as open as I've seen the top 8, given the regular contenders of previous years are all 5th or below. Geelong would have to go in clear favourites, but the other Grand Finalists could come from anyone. The Victorians will be happy there is likely to be at least one and probably two Vic teams in the GF.

There's some crucial games that could swing it either way, but I end up with

Geelong 72
Hawthorn 64
Collingwood 60
West Coast 56
Adelaide 52
Sydney 52
Kangaroos 52
Port Adelaide 48

Shows it's still very open for everyone bar Geelong who look safe at the top

Bullies 48 - out on %

With Richmond then Melbourne,Adelaide then Carlton before the Hawks in Launceston ( we have won 2/2 against them there),the Hawks game (and the Showdown) will be huge for Port.

If we win the Showdown, aswell as accounting for the other three (iIF) then the Hawks game could be more to looking at the Top 4,than just the 8.Lose any of the next four, and we might scrape 8,lose two of them,as well as Geelong, and its 9th.

Edge of my bloody seat for the next 6 weeks.

Our record against the Hawks is dire also but the next game won't be played in Tassie. We went down to the Hawks by four points with zero goals to NAblett, Hawkins and Mooney. We'll trounce em next time IMO.

Just make sure Nick Davis cant do any damage in the last half a second of the game and the Cats will be ok if they meet them in the finals.

Rest easy Mr Boon. South could make the finals with that run. Bullies looking very shaky after last night's belting and losing a couple to injury.

I make it that 11 wins may sneak someone in

I now have Kangaroos in the top 4 and a real bottle-neck between West Coast, Kangas, Hawks, Pies, Sydney and Port

Then there's a group of Bombers, Saints, Bulldogs, Brisbane and the Crows fighting for the last spot. That's why today's Crows v Bombers match up was so important :(

Brisbane seem to be hitting their straps at the right time, at this stage they would have to be a good chance for the "smoky" nomination! 8)

I dont think that match is as important as some others are. We definately have to beat the Crows and Hawks to make it. There are a lot of important matches in the next 2-3 weeks which will shape how the top 4 ends up.

West Coast, Kangaroos and Port all have tricky runs home.

West Coast play Freo (could lose), Kangaroos away (could lose) and St Kilda away (could lose). They could also not drop another game for the season.

Kangaroos play Brisbane away (could lose), West Coast at home (could lose), Geelong (could lose) and also the Bulldogs (might need to win to make the finals). They could all go either way as well.

Port play Crows, Geelong and Hawthorn away and could lose all of them. Which as I said, makes the Showdown and Hawthorn match (we play well in Tassie) the important ones.

Collingwood have an absolute dream run. They play the three bottom sides in the next three weeks and could easily win each of those by 10 goals - despite how shit they played on the weekend, plus Swans and Crows at home. They could also make top 4.

Hawks have 5 clubs all vying for spots in the finals. They could easily lose all of them. One or two wins will guarantee finals though.

If results go our way in the next three weeks then we can end up with a home final with a double chance. If they dont then we can end up as low as 7th.
