Fair enough Wedgie

It just sh**s me when we have a Crows topic and someone chimes in with a snipe against the club that has nothing to do with the topic

RW has done that a couple of times now

Play on ....

I could have sworn the thread had evolved into salary cap concerns and players taking pay cuts to fit someone else in  .I thought" extended career options" may have yet surface again in the negotiations. No apology offered for touchy offense taken.

Aw, not the magnificant little Crows, poor little boys, so harshly treated in the media, if it wasn't for the followers to say something nice about them, no one would. Cry me a fking river.

Money isn't an issue for any of them, but if they can get more, they will. Their managers will make sure of it.

shooter

I get frustrated when people do not have the right facts

Pav initial contract was for 2 years, 2000 and 2001 seasons

At the end of 2001 Pav signed a new three year deal and was offered the vice captaincy, meaning he was contracted for the 2002, 2003 and 2004 period

The crows traded for Carey at the end of 2002 and Carey debut in round 1, 2003, it is obvious

When the Crows recruited Carey, Pav had only completed the first year of his new three year contract

And lets face it they'll pay whatever they have to to keep him, including whatever they have to do via the back door. I can see no reason to fantasise that he even wants to return to SA.

Even if he wanted to come home, there is no way that trade will ever happen.

We are more likely to go after Nathan Buckley than Pavlich.

Yeah I think we have to have a crack at Pav for sure

We effectively gave up Wellman and Rouvray (IIRC) to get Darren Jarman and that turned out to be GOLD for us .... and good for the Bombers too

Giving up Kane Johnson for Carey not so GOLD

But if Pav is interested then we should make it happen

I am not getting too excited just yet

First Pav needs to decide whether he wants to stay at Freo, then he needs to decide that Adelaide is his choice of clubs, finally a trade needs to be agreed too by both Parties

If it gets to this point, Adelaide will have no choice but to trade their first round choice, if both clubs try and trade directly with each other, Griffen, Perrie and Van Berlo are all WA boys and may be considered

Personally I do not believe this will be the case, Historically with these big trades it usually involves multiple of clubs, one of the following may be sacraficed Meesen, Huson, Rielly, Douglas, to obtain a high pick from a Victorian club

One thing is for sure, no point in mentioning players like Jericho or Hinge, the Crows will need to give up plenty to get Pav to Adelaide

That did work out well for all as the Hawks picked up a man who won the next 2 B&F awards and was 3rd in his 3rd year.
