It would have been good to see how the Tigers would have gone in the earlier part of the year with a reasonable run with injuries.
That hasn't been the case unfortunately but an interesting stat I looked at a few weeks ago was how many players has each club used in the A grade this year. Updated as of this week:

Balaklava: 34

Hamley Bridge: 35

HWE: 31

Mallala: 34

Two Wells: 30

United: 39

Virginia: 26

We aren't at full strength, however I wouldn't expect many teams to be at this time of year. Having said that we are fielding a stronger side than we have been in recent weeks, which is probably stating the obvious.

That number of players stat is crazy. How lucky have Virginia been? Very steady side, shows why they are sitting top and look to be the team to beat at this stage.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Yeah that would further reveal the injury/unavailability dramas for sure, although I haven't done it. Would guess they would reflect the numbers in the A grade though, maybe higher numbers but each club would be similarly ranked, United, Hamley, Mallala, Balak quite high etc

Half way mark of the year how does everyone see it panning out? From a distance it seems Virginia are the standout with Two Wells and Mallala a step behind. The battle for fourth is about to heat up. Hummocks in the box seat to snatch it but United look dangerous once all their returning players get some match fitness. My black and white spies (pie spies) tell me the tigers were pretty good until they ran out of petrol tickets late in the game. Never count out Balak either they started their run to the finals about this time last year. Thoughts?

Pretty much sums it up. United really good for 20 mins in the second qtr when they kicked 4 of their 7 goals. If they can put it together for 4 qtrs they'll claim a few big scalps in the second part of the year. Hulme got plenty of it Saturday and they missed Kriston Thompson's run off HB.

Yuge game between Mallala and Virginia this week. Probably gonna be freezing cold and wet but if I wasn't playing, I'd love to watch this one.

HWE v United could be an interesting affair on what will probably be a hard and slippery Lochiel surface.
