Far out, that figure would be around %50 on your membership around 10 year ago wouldn't it?

its funny. i asked about falling memberships at North's "information" night before the introduction of the reserves teams. i specifically asked that if members voted with their feet, and didnt renew, at what point would North revisit its decision to vote yes, and vote the reserves teams out. the answer from our esteemed president was that they would never vote them out, and i quote, "if membership falls that far, the club would close".
i shit you not, the roosters management would rather shut the club completely than reverse an unpopular decision. i wonder if they will stick to those guns or if it was all bluff to try to convince what they saw as a small handful of diseneters....

The customer is always wrong so don't try and tell us what to do, we'd rather close down than listen to you. Now **** OFF! Signed: management, NAFC.

How much revenue do memberships generate compared to gambling revenue?

It that figure up to date though?
Just on another point, if North wanted to demonstrate that inclusion of the reserves has had no effect on membership, what's to stop them, or any other club inflating their membership figures.
How would anyone know? Is their some kind list or something? Even a financial audit wouldn't necessarily come up with actual membership numbers, only revenue.
Many clubs have categories which total junior members (often free and under a certain age), life-members and fully paid members. Its the fully paid members which should be compared. Take Port Power and Crows. They both count around 12000 Adelaide Oval Members as their own members. They are not paid up members to either club, but they both claim the same people as members of each of their clubs. Seems that over-inflating these figures is par for the course no matter which league we look at but the decline for most clubs of fully financial membership is concerning.

That is bloody frightening !!! (can not even get my head around that !)
Sooooooo, according to the boss of the SANFL there is nothing to worry about, crowds might be down but memberships are up!! No doubt the SANFL are going to the AFL school of counting memberships and chest beating associated with it.
