Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

When we listen to commentators these days I really don't think we, when growing up, realise that we had some of the greatest commentators there will ever be. Richie, Bill, Chappelli, Tony, Max and Stacky. We have been spoilt. I've had 44 summers with these champions of the game.
Cricket will not be the same without Richie but even worse when the rest are gone too.

It really hit me hard when I found out the news on Friday morning.

It felt like summer had gone for me with Richie's passing.

He was a major reason why I fell in love with cricket in the first place and it's not going to be the same next summer and in the future knowing the Great Man will never grace our screens again.

While I never had the opportunity to meet him, it felt like someone close to me had died.

Summer will never be the same again and cricket will never be the same again.

R.I.P. Richie! We'll forever miss you. Legend!

Richie was like everyone's grandpa. Probably heard his voice more than my own grandpa!

Definitely one of 4 or 5 people i would love to sit down with for an hour, have a coffee and just listen to him talk cricket. What his favourite games/players etc etc.

One of my favourite Richie comments after Shane Warne bowled Basit Ali last ball of day SCG 1995:
Well, whatever it is they talked about, you can bet your life in future it'll be "why don't you give him the one that will bowl him between his legs"

Loved his humour, which often took a couple of seconds to sink in. I appreciated him more in the last ten or fifteen years rather than when I was growing up. But cricket won't be the same again.
