Anyone else get the feeling that footy is going to be pretty good to watch this year, a pretty good style of footy?

Looking good so far.

Hard to think that just 4 days ago there was a World Cup final played on the ground
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Feel sorry for Thomas, looked really fit and over the ankle injuries and now substantial time on the sidelines again

....."What it brings".... um, situation normal, completely expected. Garbage skills, rubbish ability to run with opposition. Situation, completely, normal.

Good to see Carlton getting Crips more on the ball late then. Seems to be spending a lot of time across half forward. Need to change something in he middle.

Need to turn our brains on... handballing to feet, scrubbing no pressure kicks along the ground...

Seeing we play the first game, I suggest this is going to be a long, long, longggggg season.

Why oh why would you pick Liam Jones (a KP Forward who couldnt get a game at a team who didnt have any other KP Forwards) over Levi Casboult who can at least take a contested mark... just dumb dumb dumb football from the top to the bottom...

Feel sorry for him?
If he didn't throw his arms in the air playing for a free kick and actually braced himself as most normal people would he would have been fine.

Yes Jase I was surprised that he was picked in front of Casibolt. I think Casibolt can hold his own down forward and as you said can take a grab. Better pick in my opinion than Jones.

Henderson played an OK game but Carlton couldn't kick a winning score. Ver suprised Levi was dropped.

Mick says Cas was out of form because he hasn't kicked a goal pre season.

Well Mick, pre season is exactly that.....

We need someone who can worry the opposition in defence. Does Jones send the defence into shivers because he can take a big pack mark? Does Cas force the ball to ground? FFS back to basics...

Only early I know but both are ordinary sides, dont think Richmond are much chop so doesnt say much for Carlton. I had them pencilled in for bottom 4 at the start if the season and nothing on tonights performance has changed my opinion. They just wont kick enough goals and have a seriously rubbish defense, doesnt help with squibs like Yarran jumping at his own shadows.
I wish I could find Micks quote from earlier this year where he said there is no reason why Carlton cant win every game
