Vic Marks: There's a name I haven't heard of in a while, he looked about 48 when he was playing.

Weird assessment of someone who played in a shizen side but carried the mob for the better part of a decade. As he got older, the standards around him rose until no, he didn't need to carry the side. He was a star in a quasi minnows nation until recently where they are becoming one of the powerhouses of international one day cricket and forging a reputation as a very good test playing nation.
Vettori may well have gotten too old for the team around him but his nations success is just around the corner.

For a long time Vettori was the only New Zealander with the potential to play for Australia at their peak. Now days we could have there entire pace attack fit into our side if we wanted
