Glenelg played a draw with West last Friday night in their round 1 fixture.

I see where the confusion is coming from now. According to the SANFL site showing Reserves fixtures Glenelg play 2 games in Round 1! The game against West last week and the game against South this week. How does this happen. I know we want to differentiate ourselves from the AFL but this is getting ridiculous, a team playing 2 games in the same round !?!?!?

The only thing that makes sense is that the Reserves starts at 12.25 and the League at 3.10

Agreed. South did a great job fighting to play Good Friday footy and put alot of time and effort into it.

I still don't get the decision. Who knows ?

That saying, I am more confident with a win at the Bay then playing at home at Noarlunga. We love the smaller ground.

South by 4 goals.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Wasn't it an agreement between the two clubs, on an annual rotation basis, meaning it's back at Noarlunga next season?

Everyone wins, the clubs working with each other, good outcome, no?

That philosophy is probably a good one to have for a South supporter. You are so due for a flag that you're certainties to win it this year ;)

a
Glenelg

Glenelg will put its injection of pace to the test against South Adelaide at Gliderol Stadium on Good Friday.
Seeking speed on the outside in the off-season, the Tigers recruited former St Kilda playmaker Terry Milera, Central District’s Ben Nason, SA Under-18 captain Jake Johansen, ex-Crow Jarrhan Jacky and Willie Rioli, the cousin of Hawthorn star Cyril.
All six of these players are set to be given a licence to thrill the Bays’ faithful against the Panthers from 3.10pm.
And Western Bulldogs backman Christian Howard, who returns to Brighton Road after spending the past five seasons at Whitten Oval, will provide plenty of polish off a half-back flank.
Experienced midfielder Sam Lonergan has been named on the extended interchange bench while leadership group member Warrick McGinty has passed a fitness test on his hamstring.

League
F: Rioli, Alleway, Nason
HF: Milera, Proud, Hender
C: Earl, Snook, Jolly
HB: Howard, McGinty, Bradley
B: Jacky, Galley, Agnew

R: Button, C. Pitt, Johansen
INT: Lonergan, Scott, Trembath, Bailey, Curran

Reserves
Carter, Edwards, Gill, Hayes, Johncock, McFarlane, Merrett, Nicholson, McNeil, Donkersley, Scharenberg, J. Redden, Woolard, Tapp, McIntyre, Raikiwasa, Saunders, Miller, Spriggs, Woodall, Hinge, Laba.

South

A new-look South Adelaide line-up will be looking to maintain their dominance against southern rival Glenelg at Gliderol Stadium on Good Friday.
Port Magpies recruit Ben Haren, who has been named at full forward, is the only recruit certain to face the Tigers from 3.10pm.
But players such as Joe Haines, Emmanuel Irra and Pat Kerin, who struggled to break into the line-up last year, have earned an opportunity to cement their spots in the Panthers’ first 21.
Ruckman Daniel Bass will be given the first crack at replacing valuable bigman Keegan Brooksby, who was rookie-listed by the Gold Coast Suns while Josh Giddings will take his place in South’s starting back six.
Encounter Bay product Ben Heaslip – 189cm and 87kg – could make his league debut is he survives the cut on the extended interchange bench.
Knee reconstruction victim Tarak Redigolo will continue his recovery process in the reserves as he looks to build match fitness.

League
F: Overall, Haren, Rankine
HF: Gotch, Eddy, Cross
C: Macleod, Murphy, P. Kerin
HB: Rose, Cailotto, Haines
B: Giddings, Crabb, Irra

R: Bass, Veide, Liddle
INT: Seccull, Rolfe, Daniel, Ah Chee, Heaslip

Reserves
Jolly, Boyd, Ross, Dowling, McMahon, Farmer, Steffe, Tucker, Dale, Brown, Kelly, Tharaldsen, Kappler, Nichols, Durdin, Taht, Kokkinakis, Dixon, Redigolo.

Club is hoping for a crowd of 7000 to 8000 - with less than 1500 members & South'healthy. upporter base me thinks GFC officials may have their heads in the clouds......

27 degrees is a good temperature to work up a thirst, and the GFC one of the few places where said thirst may be quenched. I reckon the crowd will be healthy.

so you are off the chain? ;)

In front of a crowd of 3000- 3500 South should win. Hope they double that number but that is relying on a lot of Bay fans and their form hasn't been great of late.

I too am hoping for a good crowd and are hoping even more that the Southees turn up today for the hopeful continuance of last years good form.

For our squad, I expect Heaslip and Ah Chee to be the two unlucky ones.

This southee will be turning up today.

I was surprised that Fraser Dale was named in the reserves. I take that it might be to get some match fitness ?

Last time we met at Glenelg oval, they were giving out free navy and White umbrellas to Glenelg members...
