I notice people don't think maccy will make the 5 this year have they lost some players over the break? I thought they had a pretty solid season last year.

Was wondering the same thing. Also Birdwood have they recruited well to go into the 5?

Meadows
Nairne
Kersbrook
Bridgewater
Birdwood

Maccy
Gum
Kangy
S/c

My top 5 is obviously completely bias, haha.

My mail is maccy have lost brad smith, and both their ruckmen, and the coach didn't want to go on this year but is.

The boys will be doing a free sausage sizzle over Easter at the new Devine housing development, so if your in town for the meadows Easter fair make sure you go grab a couple free snags.

Go doggies

Seems that a few have forgotten what Mt Lofty did last year, Bridgies are in a fair better position than Mt Lofty were and I expect them to completely dominate the competition.
Bridgewater first then daylight.

Didn't Lofty get back players like Petersen-Gray and Ben Gordon last year. So effectively the team last year in country was stronger than the team they put out in 2013 central div.

In saying that I think Bridgewater will be right up their come finals and I would love to see a club starved of A and B grade success play in the GF's and win at least one flag. Also their juniors I would expect to win at least one premiership.

Should be an exciting and enjoyable year for the Raiders .

Come on M Train must be a reason to put Meadows top. Are these the big signings you are talking of? Jacob Watson and Matt Cragg Sapsford both about 6.6. Must free up Big Wadey now to play else were. Whats the feel like at the kennel?

Nice detective work chop. Yeah they are a couple of our ins, very handy and not getting a cent. I don't think there is another team in our comp with that kind of height. As in 3 players 6.6+ And still a couple more to come out (not talls) which will boost the depth.
I put meadows top because they are my club, the one and only.

The feeling around the kennel is electric in anticipation of the start of the season

This is awful especially if the have kept their juniors.
What a C grade with 5 junior teams makes the Sedan situation seem ridiculous.

It didn't say they've never paid players, just can't afford to match offers from other clubs.

Called in to Hahndorf last night to watch a few local Hills lads play in a Sturt u/18 trial v Nairne A's. While a pretty scrappy affair, the Sturt lads got more of the ball in the 1st half to lead by 7 or so Gls at half time. Nairne bustled their way back during the 2nd half with Sturt winners by a couple goals.

Not sure the Sturt hierarchy would be happy about a 'sling' tackle which knocked one of their lads out. Pretty reckless in the context of the game against underage kids .....

I went and had a look at the last half of that game too to watch a heap of Murray Bridge boys. Not sure what you are inferring by the last comment because it was hardly David vs Goliath. I went to the Nairne 3/4 huddle and I reckon there would have been no more than 6 lads over 21. Apparently the young stocky Nairne lad in the middle who won a heap of tough contested ball could still play for Sturt U/18s.

That would be Micah Rupcic. Not good enough to get a game in Sturt 18s side... Not sure if they're blind or stupid. Kid is a jet. Tough as they come, wins his own footy and backs himself. They fielded a very going side for that very purpose.

Who knows how we'll go. We were certainly a better Central Division A Grade side than Lofty were when they went down (we won 6 games last year), however have lost a couple of players in the off-season, and got a couple back the other way.

We have no expectations, nor are we taking anything for granted. Clearly other sides in Div. 2 are recruiting up for a big year (Kersbrook, Nairne, Meadows). But, make no mistake, we will not be changing the philosophy of building our future on our youngsters, supplemented with some wise old heads.

Looking forward to hosting all Div. 2 clubs at Bridgy or Callington (both ovals are looking a treat) and visiting some ovals for the first time.
