Likely to come down to the showdown. over the years generally the team who loses the first one wins the second one. Therefore probably the power :vom: i certainly hope the crows but fear a Tredrea inspired Power.

No i doubt my side, Port, will finish higher, the Crows although quite inconsistent this year, are in better form and have more experienced and inform players.

My prediction at minor round, Crows to finish 7th, Port 9th.

That sounds pretty right, maybe Adelaide a little higher. The Crows might have to win at Cat park if they want to make the top four.

Both teams currently 8-6

Crows remaining games:

St Kilda (away)
Freo (home)
Essendon (away)
Port (home)
Geelong (away)
Bulldogs (home)
Brisbane (home)
Collingwood (away)

Port's remaining games:

West Coast (home)
Richmond (away)
Melbourne (home)
Adelaide (away)
Carlton (home)
Hawthorn (away)
Geelong (away)
Freo (home)

Pull out your crystal ball and count up the wins for each and you'll have the answer!

I agree REB - but the crows will also have to win the last one of the year as well against Collingwood in Melbourne.

The wild card in the Crows top 4 aspirations is the potential drop-off of the Hawks. If Sat night was how good they really are then maybe things have opened up.

I said 'potential' - if the Hawks bounce back this week then the door may shut and the Crows will have to look for form slumps in the West or at Collingwood

At this stage Crows are only 1 game out of the 4

Very important Showdown to come, but sadly the Crows have the wood* on us at the moment (last 2 years in fact) and I think, bar a huge form rise from Port will account for us in that game.
We will need to win that and 4 others to make the 8,if in turn Adelaide lose the showdown they may struggle themselves to finish in the 8.

For mine,Adelaide 6th,Port 9th.

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Those in bold a good chance to win. So Crows with possibly 7 from 8 and Port 4 from 8. Crows to make the top 4 and Port just in the 8.

You're right about the Hawks. This week is a must win. The next 4 games for the Hawks will really tell a story. All should be wins and realistically if we want to finish top 4 have to win at least 3 of them.

Saturday night was an aberration - definitely not an indication of where the Hawks are at present. The Hawks have a relatively "soft" run home and could reasonably be expected to win 6 of their last 8 (with 2 in Launceston, 5 at the MCG/Docklands). Adelaide could pencil in 4, possibly 5 but games against Geelong (Kardinia) and Essendon (Docklands) will be tough.
