2015 Ashes

Post by Bombers4EVA »

So the ECB has announced that the first test will begin on July 8 in Cardiff. I tell ya now that July 8 can't come quicker enough. Going to be a thrilling series.

The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

You would think it would be pretty much the same squad picked for the West Indies tour. The 15 picks it self i reckon...

Rogers
Warner
Clarke
Smith
S Marsh
Watson
M Marsh
Haddin
Johnson
Harris
Cummins
Pattinson
Hazlewood
Lyon
Boyce/Agar

Not sure whether they take a second spinner

Starc will also be around the mark depending on fitness and form of cummins and Pattinson though you would hope they should both be raring to go by then

Hastings is a spud, massive spud. Just because he fell arse backwards into a baggy green once before doesn't mean he has to again.

Pick Hilf, Doug the Rug, 2 metre Peter....anyone!

I feel a bit for Jackson Bird, I think he had real promise as that "metronome" type bowler, Hazlewood has gone right past him in those stakes though.

I think bowling is set, Harris, Johnson, Hazlewood/Pattinson/Starc, Lyon.

I hope to see Pattinson fit and firing in that line up.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

The selectors have a tough job in picking this squad don't they!

Would love for England to perpare a green deck first up and we play Harris, Johnson, Pattinson and Cummins on an overcast day one morning!

Why not Ferg mate? He's always been a contributor when he has played for Australia. And he's been making runs in the Sheffield Shield / 20/20.

Unfortunately for Jackson Bird he has been bumped down in the pecking order now after getting injured. Probably would of be picked in front of Hazelwood if he had of been fit at the start of the summer.

I reckon we will struggle to retain the Ashes. Too many batsmen have question marks over them. With Broad, Anderson, Onions and Finn in home conditions it could prove tough for us to consistently score the 350 we need to keep the pressure on.

Yep agree with this Reb. Our top order has issues and on those decks in those conditions will find it tough.

Little faith in our boys eh. I reckon we will win the series 2 -1. Got 3 batsmen in really good form in D. Warner, C. Rogers and S. Smith. We need to get M. Clark fit and firing and find a replacement for S. Watson as I think he is done at test level. I think J. Faulkner should be given a shot in the test squad as our all-rounder. As for our bowlers, I'm pretty sure we have the right stock to take over there and scare the shit out of them.

The English batting line up is far worse than ours IMO and i agree, we potentially have the attack to scare them and take 20 wickets!
I think Mitch Marsh has the alrounder spot if he stays fit but i do love Faulkners work, should be in the squad.
