It was the best thing hockey got rid of. Opened up the game and made it more accountable defensively.
From wiki:
There is currently no offside rule in field hockey. There were prior offside rules, rules that restricted the positioning of players from the attacking team in a way similar to the offside rule in association football. The evolution of the field hockey offside rule culminated with its abolition in the mid-1990s.

Would be the worst thing to happen in soccer.
What is so great about the game is the fact rules are not tampered with every 5 minutes like other sports

Come on, I know you hate the Spuds but he was 10m in his own half, worst call of the year. That linesman should be stood down for remainder of the season, would be disappointed in a 10 year old getting that wrong

Agree with the first part.
Plus with the Cricket WC im pretty sure AO was unable to be used.
Soccer craps all over Aussie rules as a sport though
Soccer isn't a sport it is mere recreational pursuit perfect for women to play....
Things that give me the shits? People who think soccer is a sport.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I might be a bit of a techno dummy (Ok, I know I'm a complete techno dummy)
But I seriously cant tell the difference between SD and HD when watching the telly.
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit

Ok at 630 tonight, when the tennis switches over to 7 mate, and is also on 72, start flicking between them
You will notice a big difference, especially with the tennis ball, there will be a little comet trail on the SD broadcast
