Re: Grade Cricket
Surprising decision in some respects given that all correspondence coming from Cricket Australia is to embrace Philip Hughes with black armbands & min silences in club games this weekend. Certainly no suggestion they wanted cricket to be cancelled. I'm sure there will be some cricket played in SA this weekend.

Re: Grade Cricket
Anyone invloved at West Torrens care to elaborate on a rumoured internal trial yesterday afternoon? I hope it wasn't compulsory.

Was not compulsory, but only couple did not want to play.
We had our Quiz night last night, so was a lead in to that.
Was an awesome day and great to get all the players together. We rang SACA as did not want to disrespect anyone, and they were fully supportive and thought it was a great idea.
We had a 63 second silence, lined up all the bats and caps, players all in semi circle around the David Hookes Pavilion (quite appropriate). Got some fantastic photos that are being posted on various places.
We played couple of 20/20 games, mixing up players from A thru D Grade by selecting out of hat, had BBQ and few beers. To get everyone together and have a lot of laughs was brilliant.
We thought it was best to have the whole club together, what would everyone have done otherwise, sit around moping all day doing nothing?
Hope you can respect that Heater, there is no right or wrong answer, even a couple of the players who were against it said it was just what everyone needed, and one A Grader who did not want to do it, came along and umpired later and changed his mind, saying he thought it was excellent day.

Re: Grade Cricket
nah not really an issue. Just a little disturbed that it was rumoured to be compulsory. I noticed Southern Districts spent the day at the Christies Beach pub. We opened up our clubrooms from 3 pm and urged all those selected to spend some time at the club. Whilst not playing any cricket we just mucked about with games of darts, Poker and other card games, christ we dribbled some shit and our 2 Redbacks boys enjoyed themselves. To end the night a random punter tweeted this image and it capped my night off.

Re: Grade Cricket
Any word about games this week? Or a date for rescheduling Saturday's game? Twenty20's Tuesday and a Sat-Sun game.

Re: Grade Cricket
At TTG our C/Ds played a trial only because they didn’t play last week, plus we have the bye this week meaning they wouldn’t have played for 4 weeks. Anyone who didn’t want to play didn’t have to.
The A/Bs gathered up the club and had a few beers with some fifa tournies etc
Yesterday was also our annual backyard cricket comp which involves 99% of the senior playing group including our 2 redbacks players. I was absent, but from all reports the blokes certainly paid their respects to Phil including singing happy birthday to him at 4.08pm. (ill post a link to the youtube video they normally make from the day)

Re: Grade Cricket
Any chance SACA would reschedule round 5 for Sun 14th now that the Test match has moved?

It's 1 of the options they are looking at.
Already moved round 2 of the 20/20 competition to the Monday before the Test Match.

Heard they are playing the A and B Grade on Sunday Dec 21, and the rest of the Round cancelled.
Would have thought Dec 14 would be better, could be no cricket at all that weekend if Test Match does not go to final day!

Yep just saw the memo from SACA. A & B grade to play on the 21st of December.
Just hope the Test Match lasts until a decent portion of the final day....

Pirates have their first win for the year in a 20/20.
Hooray.

Not much more to add from what is already posted. A & B Grade to be rescheduled on the 21st all other grades including juniors will not be.

Frightening to think of Raphael, Valente and Lawford fire at once....
Fair to say they didn't fire today then?
49 not a very frightening score.
