before i go any further, i want to stress i have no real problem with religion... you bellieve in what ever you wish...

However SOME born again christians give me the sh*ts....
Don't preach to me about living a wholesome life and following jesus and all that, when the majority or the reason you are born again is because you did a whole lot of stupid crap then turned to god so everything will be ok...

I rarely ever answer my mobile without it being on speaker as I don't want to hold a source of radio frequency fields anywhere near my brain.
That being the case I don't usually answer it at all in places where having it on speaker would be intrusive on others.

Of course some would argue that it is rude to not answer...

btw you don't have anything to worry about with holding a mobile phone near your head (a handheld radio or walk talky possibly as they are significantly more powerful)

it is all about the power of the radio waves, not how many different sources.

High power radio waves can act as a source of heating, (exactly what your microwave oven does), which can lead to health issues.

wavelength is also an issue - in the microwave band they are perfect to excite water molecules and hence why they are used in an oven. higher and lower frequencies have less of an effect.

the power also falls off as the square of the distance, so doubling the distance away from you makes the power go down by a factor of four.

The opponents of the NBN forgot to start a thread about how that was wrong and the prices are really good.

I'm one of those sceptics, and I'm waiting to see whether they stay good after they get enough take up to be able to claim the programme as a success. It wouldn't be the first industry to offer good starter prices in the early days to get a market share established, then adjust later.

My scepticism has been proved right for us light users - I rarely exceed 8GB per month.
When it was first mooted 10GB NBN plans at 25mbps were being offered at $39.95 per month - fairly commensurate with my existing ADSL2+ plan.*
The lowest NBN plan I can find now is a 12 mbps plan offering 30GB (uploads counted too) at $59.95, or $64.95 at 25mbps.

*Adding VoIP and a home phone brings my ADSL2+ plan to $59.95 per month - the same service with the NBN will now be a minimum of $89.85, and that is without allowing for the $10 a month free calls I get now.

So my $59.95 package jumps to something like $99.85 minimum for a doubling of my present speed...

Sure I can afford it but I resent attempts being made to con me and the general community...

The central issue is near microwave frequencies concentrated around the antenna, not lower radio frequencies.
AND it is putting the antenna near your head that matters - at 50cm the field is reduced to 1/2500th of what it is at 1cm.

A Neurosurgeon I know who nis interested in the topic says the only way to use a mobile is at arm's length either on speaker or with a wired earphone.
(Wireless/bluetooth puts a concentrating antenna next to your brain too.)
