Geez, Heater...don't tell Tom that he was educated at St. Peter's! It'd be like telling an Englishman they fought for the Germans given Prince's hatred of St. Peter's. Believe me, he definitely did not go to St. Peter's, unlike his cousin, James McLeay, who did attend Saints. The Adeliade Uni connection is correct, however...my bad!

With the number of ex Glenelg players appearing at Sturt in recent years, they ought to be wearing Zero Wing fighter pilot regalia... "All your Bays are belong to us".
The Sturt junior program must be something to behold. They just keep getting senior players from a handful of other SANFL clubs. "Stortelg" maybe?
Quick scan of Norwood's GF team and there's Dawe,Newton, Davis, Phillips, Wilson, Bode, Mcguiness, Baulderstone, Bartlett, Allan who are definitely recruits that didn't come through Norwood's juniors and there is probably more.
Norwood 10/21recruits = 11/21 from juniors = 52% juniors
Sturt 17 juniors out of 30 according to above = 57% juniors
Not quite an apples v apples comparison but it's worth considering some facts before throwing stones from the inside of the glasshouse. I would think a successful SANFL side would rarely be too far outside these figures despite perceptions of opposition supporters.

Most of those recruits were brought in to replace the heap of developed players we lost to the last 3 or 4 drafts. Your point is valid though, all clubs need that combination of homegrown + recruits to be competitive.

It wasn't my intention to start class warfare! Tony Abbott does a good enough job of that, without me fueling it.

More inter-school rivalry, than class warfare
Mr Abbott would approve of that as being healthy. However, leftie socialists might be concerned about the use of girls as a pejorative.

Shhhh! I don't want it to get out that I'm a leftie socialist. Mightn't go down too well in the blue ribbon Liberal seat of Unley.

Gil Langley (RIP) says hello
not that he was a socialist per se but he was certainly on the left side of politics
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Sadly, Unley is destined to be on the conservative side for some time. All is not lost, however, despite the current Mayor's political leanings....he's Sturt through and through.

Next you'll be telling us Pussy Riot are hot.

Re: 2014 Retirements & 2015 Player Movement Discussions
The North Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the following additions for season 2015;
Mitch Clisby has agreed to return to Prospect Oval if he doesn’t receive another AFL contract.
Mitch has spent the last two seasons at the Melbourne Football Club where he played 8 AFL games.
Mitch will bolster our running power across half back and through the midfield and will return to Adelaide after the AFL draft in early December if nothing eventuates at the AFL level.
Mitch Curnow is a 201cm, 100kg ruckman who is 21 years old and moves across from Sturt.
Mitch was previously on the Port Power rookie list and won the Sturt Reserves best and fairest award in 2013.
Mitch accumulates possessions around the ground and has a good understanding of the game.
Mitch will work closely with new ruck coach Craig Parry.
Alex Spina returns to North Adelaide after one season on the Adelaide Crows rookie list.
Alex was a highly rated junior and his skill level and decision making are his biggest assets on the playing field.
Alex played 16 games this season at SANFL level for Adelaide, averaging 16.5 possessions and finishing 7th in their club champion award.
Brett Heintze will join the Roosters for pre-season from local amateur club Gaza.
Brett is a key defender who was named Centre Half Back in the Division 1 amateur team of the year and won the best and fairest award at Gaza in 2014.
Brett played his junior football at West Adelaide and he is competitive and strong in the contest.
and of course Lewis Johnston as previously advised.
We welcome the above players to the club and look forward to watching them contribute on the playing field in season 2015.
The following players have advised the club that they won’t be continuing in the red and white colours in 2015;
Ben Williams has had to make the hard decision to walk away from SANFL football due to constant knee soreness following 5 operations in the past 4 seasons.
Ben has been advised by 2 knee specialists to pull back on physical activity as more surgery won’t fix his knee issues.
Ben is highly respected by all at the football club and has worked hard for years to cement a permanent position at league level.
Ben is travelling to India in February to do some volunteer work and hasn’t made a decision yet if he will play football at a lower level.
Addison Burns has advised the club that he will continue as a Crows top up player and will head back to the local level next season.
Addison is a developing player who has only played football for the past 3-4 seasons and has a lot of potential as a forward.
We will monitor Addison’s development next year and keep in contact with him and the Adelaide coaching staff.
Campbell Combe has made the decision to head home to Crystal Brook to live and work on the family farm for the next 12 months.
Campbell wasn’t comfortable with life in the city and wants to go back to the country to re-evaluate his career path.
Campbell is a young, highly talented footballer who we hope will return to North Adelaide in future years.
We would like to thank Ben, Addison and Campbell for their time and commitment to the North Adelaide Football Club and we wish them well in their future endeavors both on and off the field.
The pre-season kicks off tomorrow night with a time trial at the Adelaide Uni Loop starting at 5:30pm.
The squad is similar to last season and we look forward to watching them develop and improve over the next 5 months.
Training sessions prior to Christmas will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.
Check the website for training locations as they will vary from week to week.
We will advise of any further movements once they are finalised.

And Lewis Johnston confirmed with me 10 minutes ago he will not be putting in for the AFL draft so will definitely be at the Roosters in 2015.
And it was at a chicken shop, not a coffee shop.
