Cats best winning streak in 40 years

Postby Wedgie » Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:34 am

9 in a row now.
First time Ive watched C7s Friday Night coverage and christ it was crap, bring back Eddie.
Only highlight was when someone asked if Gary Ablett Jnr would be considered diffierently if his father wasn't Gary Ablet.
David Schwarz said "yeah, he'd have a different surname".
Almost wet myself over that one!

Chappy BOG IMHO

Go Cats! :D

Any self respecting Cats fan would know this is as close as they get to a Premiership...

the Cats should finish top 2 after the minor round

but one disadvantage to the Cats come Sept, is the club will play their finals at either TD or the MCG

I'm sure opposition clubs rather face the cats in a home final at either TD or the MCG

This really shows how disappointing 2006 was for the Cats. Take that year out and no-one should be surprised with their form this year given the promise of 2004 and 2005 (and then the pre-season cup in 2006).

It's hard to see, at this stage, it not being a West Coast-Geelong GF altho this time LY the Crows were almost unbackable for the flag.

What I do hope is that all those supporters that tried to stick knives into the backs of Bomber Thompson and Frank Costa have the courage to apologise.

Frank stuck his neck out to keep Bomber Thompson at the club, I think that their form vindicates his decision.

Yeah but have you ever met a Cats supporter that did that?

I have many witnesses that I always thought Costa and Thompson were the best people for the job and have not come across one Cats fan that differed in my opinion, I think it was only morons who support other clubs that stuck the so called knives in.

Mate living in Nhill the two msot popular teams are Essendon and Geelong (three doors up Mum and 1 son are the Cats, Dad and the other are Bombers). A few Carlton supporters are starting to come out of the Woodwork and wherever you there are bloody Collingwood supporters

I know plenty of Geelong supporters that wanted to oust the coach and pres....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I'll put my hand up and say that I thought Bomber had lost it but you can't go past what Costa has done off the field, which hasn't been a problem this decade. The problem was always what was happening on the field and at times last season Bomber looked reactive at best and catatonic (pardon the pun) at worst.

What Bomber has done is provide the leadership group with ownership. Again, I didn't think this was the way to go but recent results have proven otherwise. I thought Bomber's efforts against Sheeds last night was a return to the Bomber who coached us well prior to last season.

Personally I think the Cats can thank the Crows, they have got Schwerdt's 2IC as their main fitness bloke this year (PAul Haines) using NP Craig's tried and true conditioning methods and Viola a successful fit side capable of running out matches....

Contented Cats do not spit out vitriol mon ami. Personally, I reckon it is Neil Balme that is the talisman. I'm hoping he brings to the Cats what he brought to Norwood 25 years earlier.
