Especially if it is the red eye flight via Melbourne, that is
Depart Perth 11:45 PM (1.15am SA Time)
Arrive Melb 05:20 AM (4.50am SA Time) ... Flight 3 hours 35 mins
.... sit at Melbourne airport for 2 & a half hours.
Depart Melb 08:05 AM (7.35am SA Time).
Arrive Adelaide 09:00 AM ... Flight 1 hour 25 minutes
(Arriving only 4 hours before the meeting time at Adelaide Oval)
I cant see how the coach / players are going to get any more than 4-5 hours sleep before the match, and what player sits on a plane for more than 5 hours then plays a full footy game on the same day.

Also, 23 into 21 doesn't go, and Port have to shed 2 more players from somewhere. I don't believe that Port will 'drop' an AFL-listed player (if they were going to do so this year, it would've happened before now) and they don't want to drop any of Summerton, Bruggemann, Krakouer or Slattery (the first 3 because of their quality and role in the team, the last because it would be too embarrassing to drop the official 'leadership player' and vice-captain). So letting one of the emergencies (probably Impey) stay in Perth with the boys who played, plus, um... let me see... Daniel Flynn coming down with a chronic case of general soreness on Sunday morning, will fix it.FOOTY TALK wrote:I think you will find that emergencies will be flown back saturday afternoon and keep 1 until gametime

What is guaranteed is that the SANFL grand final will be drowned out in the media by the AFL preliminary final coverage.
