We Need You South

On behalf of the entire SANFL community we need you South. We need you to keep the AFL out of our sacred and historic Grand Final.
The Norwood Football Club did their job tonight so PLEASE South finish them off next week.
We will all be on your side and I believe many Norwood supporters, in fact many, many neutral supporters will be at the game cheering for you.
All of us are Panther supporters for a week.

It's like Woodville 1986 only with a much more specific reason to back the underdog. (Not that South deserve to be underdog in the PF on form, but any team that hasn't won a GF for 50 years and hasn't been in one for 35 years, can embrace the term.)

I wouldn't wish for South to make the GF because they'd be an easier assignment - I don't believe they would be, I just don't want any AFL reserves side anywhere near an SANFL GF or a premiership!

There are so many reasons to go for South this finals series. Even though the club is well over 120 years old - this could be the making of them. They showed integrity off the field and are looking better each week on the field. Fingers crossed they can dispose of the Reserves team and we get a genuine SANFL Grand Final the week after. Would be brilliant.

Think the SANFL and the SMA would hate this thread as they would love to see a Norwood v Port GF just for the crowd size ( think 30,000 plus could happen ) and dollars rolling in. Any Crows fans ( all 4,000 ) who realise the SANFL exists would hate to see Port any where near a chance of a premiership.

Indeed. South are capable of winning this premiership. Of course I'd rather see the Legs salute but if we don't I'd rather see a Southee flag.

Cant believe how happy this Panther tragic is atm, can honestly say I havent seen a better performance from a South side in many,many years.
Have no fear, if we go down next week it wont be for a lack of trying, I can tell you.
We have 50 years of hunger to sate.


Yes there will be a few ol southees dusting off the scarf and jumping on the bandwagon, but who gives a s--t. We will need all the support we can muster next Sunday against the POWER RESERVES, so any other clubs supporters who are passionate about the SANFL can jump on board too, your support will be most welcome.

There can be no traditional Norwood v Port GF as this would be Port Power Reserves first GF appearance.
There would be more people if South make it as so many neutrals would come and support them.

Definitely feels so much like Woodville 1986! Although I was only 8 I remember well them surging at us in the last quarter of the 86 prelim and most of Football Park trying to yell them over the line. Thankfully we steadied and well, we know the rest!

Hopefully this time we get a different outcome. Been such a long wait for South. Hope they get up next weekend and get a crack at the big dance!
