Would like to pass on there condolences on the passing of club great Glen "BOONIE" Simons after a 7 yr battle with melanoma.

Glen played 212 A Grade games from 1995 till 2009 ... retiring in 2012 with 259 senior games

Credit where credit is due and well done to emus today. Had our chances but the pressure put on by emus defence made it difficult to convert. Had enough of the ball but inaccuracy cost us.

Been several years since we haven't won a final and to be out in straight sets doesn't sit well. I would expect some changes.

A red card is a report so he will have a trip to the tribunal on Tuesday night.

Could you get better rivalry in Prelim week? The Shoes v Cocklies and Winies v Emus!! At the risk of embarrassing myself, im going to tip 2 upsets, and I reckon Porties and the Emus will contest the big one.

The Shoes have been fantastic. They have a great mix of inside and outside players, but there outside players have gone untouched for the majority of the year. This is the big stage, and im tipping that Manhood wont allow these guys to run around unchecked away from the contest. Porties love it physical all over the ground, and I think it may be left to too few for the Shoes. Porties by 14points.

The Sunday game is another cracker. The Emus have found form at the right time, and the Winies deserve to be where they are with a great season. I think the form lines of both teams are different. The Winies had a super first half of the year, the Emus have been just as good through the second half. Having the skipper back is a huge bonus for the emus at this time of the year. The emus defence will crucial, I think they can hold the Winefly forwards, and there speed on the big ground will give them the edge. Without a noted goalkicker, they will share it around, and that will be hard for the Winies to defend. Emus in a ripper by 8 points.

Watching the B grade final last Saturday between the Emus and Christies, I noticed one of the water boys for Christies was the A Grade coach Paul Crate, would have been delivering more than water wouldn't he ?

Cratey ran the water for the B-Grade in both their finals and the B-Grade coach ran water for the A-Grade. Great to see those guys rolling up their sleeves and getting involved.

The week prior in the U/18s, both Paul Crate (CB) & Matthew Dent (HV) ran water for their respective teams - was great to see from a community sport perspective.

How is the young fella? Looked in a pretty bad way yesterday and took no further part in the game.

The young fella from porties is still in hospital and will require a couple of ops on eye socket and face. May also have a blood clot behind his eye. All the best to him and his wife in what I would say will be hard few weeks
