Re: HFL Central Division
Hahndorf is not easily the best gf venue, not bad but not best. in my opinion the best would have to be a toss up between Lobethal and balhannah , for a supporter they have good parking, facilities and good viewing all around the ground. Hence they need to leave the prelim at balhannah and find somewhere else for the first semi next Sunday, maybe Callington is the option.

Re: HFL Central Division
Never much talk on here about the games that have been played or ones about to be played. Always relegation or something else that falls back to the league executives. Be good to read who's going to win and reasons why etc etc

I believe Ben Partridge from Birdwood won the Div 2 JC medal.

Re: HFL Central Division
Congrats to the young medalists, I hope they go on to play many senior games at their current clubs!!
On the entire relegation system I find it confusing that on one hand the league will say that a clubs juniors and reserve grade are not strong enough and should be relegated as a result. On the other they will dock the A'Grade of that same club points based purely on the A'Grade side having been to good....
For example 2015 sees Echunga go to country with as little as 9 points due to having won (so far) 80- 90% of their games or thereabouts since 2013.
Further insult to injury is the loss of a final 6 days out! Pure madness! By the exact same science that was used to make this decision should mean that if Echunga progress to prelim then Hahndorf get prelim with Echunga set for GF if they don't make it? If they do then GF goes to....?
End rant.

Re: HFL Central Division
Semi Finals!
Not having had anything in the last month to go by but sportingpulse I'd like to know how Lobey turned 16 goals around in 7 days? Are the Tigers back? Can they match it with Uraidla?
The demons are surely a good unit but haven't beaten barker who stumbled last week! Staring at straight sets creates even pressure for both teams!
Predictions
Echunga V Lobethal Prelim.

Re: HFL Central Division
Surely Echunga would be close to the best facility to host the GF should they not be in it?
Tons of parking (caters to 5000 for All British Day), good viewing, fantastic surface, fully fenced, good changerooms, central location.
Interesting that with Hahndorf likely to have junior sides in both GF matches that the league would allow such a home ground advantage....mmm.
Massive amount of bad decision making going on by the HFL currently - not to mention previously!
Bit of an embarrassment to the clubs involved as we are viewed from the outside as a damn mess. (last years debacle, points system, ground allocations, substandard facilities by clubs playing in the top tier comp, uneven competitions with massive blowout results, plus a relegation system that is a farce)
We should be a proud league that we can promote with confidence - not a laughing stock!!!
And well done to the junior medalists!

Re: HFL Central Division
Why in this day an age, can we not get over this swapping finals venues etc.
2 options which would allow for the best planning and presentation of the leagues showcase:
1 - Just set all the finals venues at the start of the year, rotate them on a roster from year to year, if you are lucky enough to get a final played at your home ground then so be it! People might argue thats unfare, but given all the other parametres that people complaign about, its the fairest total solution.
the Barossa used to allocate lat ein the year like the hills, because of all the reasons that seem to pop up on here, and the reality is, no-one is EVER happy with that set-up. Now each club hosts a final every second year, with that final moving up in importance each time then a 2 year spell after they host the GF (Team X host 1st semi in 2014, nothing 2015, 2nd semi 2016, nothing 2017, prelim 2018, nothing 2019, GF 2020, nothing 2021 & 2022, back to 1st semi 2023)
2 - The higher ranked A grade side on the day Hosts the final (Just like the AFL). If its good enough for them it's surely good enough for the HFL. You still may want to allocate GF day to each club, but then I would go to the rotation system in option 1.
Now allowing for relegation, the team that comes up simply takes the place of the relegated team.

Tory Edwards (blackwood) won the medal with 21 votes. After finishing runner up 3 or 4 times it's nice to see him finally win it

I also agree Troy is worthy winner. Well done!
Congratulations also to Matt "Butch" Nuske in the A2's, a back pocket player for Loby in 2013 who decided to get very fit over the summer and found himself playing in the pivot this year. The hard work paid off.

Re: HFL Central Division
I just heard that Adam (Nadsy) Edwards came up 3rd in the mail medal the other night. Congrats to him. Good to see him get some acknowledgment for all the hard work he puts in. A quality player, leader and bloke.
