If I had to guess id say about 11k there today. Majority came for the first game and plenty left when it ended, would say maybe 6-7k left now tops.
Hill was pretty sparce even during the first game, pretty poor crowds IMO.
Still think the main game should be played last but not sure that would of made much differance in the crowd

Gee I wasnt too far off.
Very poor to say the least. Excellant weather today. Have no doubt that going against ammo and country footy finals hurt.
Would think maybe 15-16k next week

I think I said I thought it would be around 12 thousand! :)

I reckon around 15k for next week, maybe even a fraction more. Weather again looks perfect for Saturday and Port Norwood and Sturt all involved.

The Qualifying final should have been the last game considering it was Norwood V Sturt.

I wonder why Fester was so upset at half time ? Someone upset him , he was swearing his head off.

Actually you'd all be surprised how little I actually swear at the footy.
Carry on like a dick yes but little swearing.
At half time I was upset with the umpiring but was more yelling encouragement at my lads as they came off than anger!

Did you guys think the timeslot worked? Always hard to predict the weather but in hindsight I think the timeslot was a good one off but a 2pm start for the first game and a 5pm start for the second game would've been more attractive for supporters that are 50/50 in coming, probably didn't effect the crowd too much though.

Incredible the amount of Norwood fans on here and at the game whinging about the umpires. I thought they did as good a job as could be expected. Norwood plays a scraggy, hanging on game, like we see alot of in the AFL, where they hold on to the man right up until just before it becomes blatant. Very hard for an umpire to see, but very effective when your direct opponent would otherwise run into open space and gather a loose ball near goal.
If you continue to play that game you're going to cop a lot of frees, and the umpires will miss a few also. So stop your damn whinging.
Sturt lost because we didn't finish off good work down the ground. The umpires were pretty good except for one or two iffy ones and I haven't heard a SANFL crowd whinge so much since the old days at Alberton where everything was a free to Port according to the crowd.
I thought Norwood had the game under control for 90 percent of it. Sturt just won't go anywhere if they can't finish off, Norwood rightfully had no reason to worry about us

On another note, I have never seen Sturt supporters so outnumbered by Norwood fans. Then again I was overseas for
13 years and things change in that time. We still had a half decent turnout, but Norwood must be top of the pure clubs for supporter numbers these days.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
