Sydney Swans - What has happened

Postby Ruck Legend » Sun Jul 01, 2007 7:41 pm

As a mad Swans man, I am disappointed with the season so far.
The boys have not been flogged at all but apparantly are not playing well at all and only loosing by 3 goals - as per the last two games against Collingwood and Geelong.

What is going on?

Skill error is terrible at the moment - dropped marks, kicks going to opposition.

One thing I have noticed is Sydney build their games on their defence. At the moment both Roberts-Thomson and Kennelly are not playing.

I know a lot of people don't think a lot of Roberts-Thomson but I know one thing when he was playing the team, he was taking one big forward every week. What did that do - well it freed up Craig Bolton to run hard out of defence. However Bolton is now manning up on a big man and appears not to have as much of that run.

Kennelly is to me probably the most important back-man the Swans have. Leo Barry is a great man, but Kennelly runs the ball out so well, putting the oppositon defence under so much pressure. Even Malceski appears not as confident with his run out's without Kennelly run alongside of him.

What does everybody else think?

I know one thing you do not loose your talent easily, but you can loose your confidence very easily?

maybe with all the defenders out, a change of game plan wouldnt go astray, roos is too defensive, boring game plan

I think they might have hit their peak last season and now some teams with more natural talent like Hawthorn and Geelong are passing them by

I think the Crows may be in the same boat

Ah yes, how my heart bleeds for one of the most selfish footballers of any era. Karma Mr. Everitt. No coincidence he has the worst losing percentage of any modern day player. A very well deserved stat for a very selfish footballer.

Here endeth the thread. The football cancer has invaded the Swannies. Did anyone else notice how much Sydney played the man and not the ball at Cat Park on Saturday? They are gone and they know it.

Karma indeed - never liked young Peter one bit.

Despite having a number of their players in my Dreamteam, you can't be sure what style they will play which annoys me a fair bit.

They are headed for a highest placing of ninth at the moment.
