Pretty quiet on here this week...
Whats going on?

blackfriars lost.

you'd think the exact opposite would have happened though finn - blackfriars lose and the forum lets loose on them. surprisingly that didn't happen.

golden grove far too good last saturday, still a way to go in this race though. look out for some more interesting results during july.

perhaps the people on the forum are actually good sports? i would be very surprised if it was anything but a friars v golden grove gf though. i'm not directly involved with this grade but am involved with uni - screecher (the coach in div6) has his money on the above with hope valley as the dark horse to threaten the friars and grovenors hegemony.

unfortunately most of us have had one of those years - goes with playing footy.
certainly is but it always a challenge playing a grade sides with a c grade team. Apparently most of the div 6 sides this year are quite well drilled and have a fair whack of talent floating around.
The average age of the uni side is about 19 (if you take out screecher), socially they seem to be having a good time so hopefully the players will be back and a little bit of experience never hurts.

certainly appears that way - good sports that is.
we've got valleys and heccies the next two weeks so will know a little more about where we stand. as houghton proved last year, finals can be a different story. 2.3% is not easy to come by and going to be hard to reel in GG to get top spot unless they lose one.

You are right it, those sides in div 6 look very good this year. Its good to hear that the boys are having a good time off the field. Hopefully for uni they come back and you guys can build a little. As you said experiance never hurts anyone, but still you need to hold on to the current players.

most will be back, there's always be some drift due to interstate and overseas employment, people playing in the country and their old clubs but that's part of the beauty of playing at uni - 20 decent players may walk up at the start of the year or 20 average ones but at least there's a level for everybody.

looks like the same sort of weather for this round (round 3 of the return matches) as for the first round. does anybody know how daly oval (hec hound park) is holding up? I'm guessing it won't have the duckpond that Uni oval had last time.
luckily for me, my side has the bye in c1 and can stay out of the rain for at least another week.

trained at daly last nite and it was ok. bit slippery/muddy in the middle and heavy on the outer wing, but should hold up ok if it doesnt rain too much overnight.

I think there has already been plenty of rain around and there might be a bit more as the day goes by, so by the time it comes to the A grade games the ovals might be a bit hacked up.
