PETRIE + ARCHER 300 + THE KANGAROOSTED

Talk on the national game

PETRIE + ARCHER 300 + THE KANGAROOSTED

Postby mal » Sun Jul 01, 2007 9:16 pm

What a day for the re-vitalised Kangaroos today with
an emphatic victory over the Western Bulldogs

GLEN ARCHER
The 34 year old veteran Kangaroo played his 300th game today.
An all Australian 3 times
Norm Smith medallist
Dual premeirship player
Shinboner of the century[because he is faithful...]
And now only 6 games away from equalling Wayne Schimmelbusch's record
Without doubt one of the most courageous footballers of all time.
I can recall a time he once stood the invincible Matthew Richardson in the mid nineties
and gave him a football lesson, thats when I noticed how good he was.
Despite never polling well in the Brownlow he has had a glittering career.
He has only 5 medal votes before this year
If he dosent poll this year has there ever been a 300+ player to poll so few votes ?

DREW PETRIE
Was traded for Evan Hewitt with the Crows, so was nearly a crow ?
Nephew of Rotten Ronnie Andrews
Was an Essendon barracker, Paul Salmon his hero
Today was his day 7 goals
Had an incredible first quater kicking an amazing 6 goals
I cant remember anyone kicking 6 goals in a first quarter, not
even Dazzling Danny Hamra Havelberg has achieved that.
Has anyone ever kicked 6 goals in a magor league footy game in a 1st qtr. ?

KANGAROOSTED
Yes Im the one who was scathing on this club for winning a game earlier
in the year with those game killing flooding tactics.
I had thought back then if they play that garbage footy they would struggle.
I had to repeatedly not apologise when attacked by my buddy DUTCHY in an
apololgy thread.
Well the club has since employed an attacking mindset and gameplan since
then and have prospered.
Considering the club has been given the most difficult draw that a Victorian
team has probably ever had in history, to be in the 8 is a great effort
That shinboner spirit I guess.

Well Done Glen, Drew and the Dutchyroos =D> =D> =D>

Well said mal. Archer is one of the greats. Has my absolute respect despite the fact i don't really like the Kangaroos. Wish he played for my side and both on field and off he is the sort of bloke you'd want to be. Well done on a fantastic career to date =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Good post Mal.
I think Simon Beaumont for the Blues against the pies kicked 8 in a half.
Not sure on the breakdown though...

Beaumont did kick 8 in a half against the Pies. Was at Princes Park (Optus Oval).

Reckon the great Ken Farmer may have done so on a few occasions but i will leave it to the Stats experts to confirm. I assume your not just talking VFL mal?
