Went up to Cambrai for the Sedan Cambrai match against Macclesfield and in both grades SC started very well, with them leading at quarter time in the A grade and seeming like they hardly missed a kick in the first quarter and a half but Maccy eventually wore them down to win well enough with stand in Travis Lynn coaching the Macclesfield side.
Oval was in good condition and SC certainly had some good players but seemed like depth might be a bit of an issue there.

This is apparently what has been allocated so far - depending on oval condition
Kersbrook - Qualifying - 23/8/14
Nairne - Elimination - 24/8/14
Gumeracha - 2nd Semi - 30/8/14
Mt Lofty - 1st Semi - 31/8/14
Kangarilla - Preliminary - 6/9/14
Macclesfield - Grand Final - 13/9/14

Bit surprised Kersbrook are going to get a home final for their A's, B's and possibly U17's in the Qual final!! And also that Nairne are getting a final 2 years in row after the condition of their oval in last year's finals!!

Good to see that as per the HFL constitution the finals are continuing to be rotated fairly between all clubs. That would have to explain why Maccy has yet another Grand Final.

Baffles me why we choose crap ovals when you want spectators to come out and watch a spectacle which is the finals and they will only see a rugby scrum! If gum were able to move a game away from their crap heap to better their percentage (masterstroke) then why would you put a final there?

I did ask the question why Cambrai weren't getting a final and the answer was that they are in line to get one next year. So instead Nairne's dung heap get's finals 4 year's in a row yet Cambrai (who has a great oval) are still to get one!
I know Birdwood & Meadows can't have one as part of their punishment from the brawl in the U17's GF last year

To be fair there is only 2 ovals in country div which have suitable surface, facilities and parking and that is Maccy and Kersbrook and Kersbrook have played in the last two GF's so can't be there.

How can Maccy get the GF 3 years running - isn't this supposed to be rotated?

300 games is a great achievement in itself, let alone at one club. Great work!

Big Game between gumeracha and Meadows this weekend with the winner getting a spot in this season's finals. I'm picking Meadows to get up in a close game.

I tip it to be the ugliest game in HFL history with 14 tribunal appearances next Wednesday night

Great call, not. Heard the oval is a bit boggy but hopefully stands up ok with no games on it for 3-4 weeks now. Can't see any reason for tribunal appearances OTH, or am I missing something?

Qualifying Final @ Lofty today
Kersbrook 1.1 7.2 8.4 12.3 (75)
Nairne/Bremer 7.1 11.3 13.10 18.11 (119)

Nairne was up 7.0 to 0.0 after 20 mins going down the hill against a shell-shocked Brookers.
