Saw strong wind warnings, thought they must have got it wrong this morning, glorious morning!

For the nerds it there the cape du couedic wave buoy is recording maximum waves of 12m at the moment and it will get much worse by the end of the day

Here I am in Townsville sitting at my laptop in nothing but track pants, in my free accommodation near the beach (The Strand). - it is suuny with patchy clouds, but a bit windy.

It has been a bit busy working up here and getting used to different systems, but today I'm having a bit of a catch up on this site because my planned trip to the local bit of the Barrier Reef, for some snorkelling and my first SCUBA lesson, has been deferred a week because of today's wind conditions...

On night shift atm, just hit 1.0 degrees at 0315, will only get colder before sunrise. Driving a forklift not the warmest thing to be doing tonight
