LOl i loved taking my car to the away ground on the fri night and then getting a cab back to it after town, only hoped one of you muppets woke me up in time lol

Big thanks for the Locks club for coming in to our club after our game. Special thank you to TK and Chris for the extended chat, you are great guys and Locks are in good hands.
The one thing that disappoints me the most of where we are as a club right now is the wonderful friends I have either made or renewed this year. Div 6 is a really good comp and all clubs have worked hard on building relationships, regardless of scores and more importantly worked on credibility.
Gunna miss you bitches, lol.

Speaking of where MP is at Yank Man what's the plan next year. Obviously div 7 but will the merger with flinders uni be a permanent thing moving forward could be a good recruiting ground. How has it worked this year?

Got to admire the way some players in battling clubs have stuck it out in a tough year but will they do it again? With only one side a couple of injuries could cause some concern?

I'll let Yanky reply to the other bits, but in regards to the bold...

This year has honestly amazed me some of our results. I have personally expected many more 40+ goal smashings, but for whatever reason the lads have stuck at it and kept going. I suppose it's a mixture of the wetter weather and perhaps some teams taking us lightly and going into cruise control as well... plus the ever reliable and stoic Flinders Uni support - whom have been amazing and we are so thankful to them this year.

Yank and I were discussing this very thing on the weekend that down at Mitchell Park we're kind of immune to getting belted in D6. We get smashed by obviously superior opponents, we get a bit shitty and down sometimes, but then by the time presentations at the club come around we've all got a smile on our face and have a laugh talking about Brad Steele literally falling over nothing because he was running faster than jog, or Mark Schocroft kicking his first A Grade goal... robbing club icon Mark Sansome in his 100th game by marking on the goal line. Or Ben Weekley baulking thin air and then getting smothered.

As we all know footy is about more than the scoreboard and the spirit and team comradery down at Mitchell Park this year is as strong as it has ever been. Just need more players! I'm confident we will keep most of the squad from this year, but to field two teams we need to find another 30-40 blokes.

4 weeks to go and still no real certainty about the top 5 or how it will shape. We may not even have a clearer idea after this coming weekend either.

IF best placed for minor premiership but play the other 3 contenders for that spot in the next 3 weeks - 2 of them away from home.
BOS play WC and IF in the next 3 weeks both at home plus AV and MP away - most likely 2nd or 3rd
WC play BOS and IF in the next 2 weeks, Lockleys away and Fitzroy at home - most likely 2nd or 3rd
Rosies play IF this week and then lower ranked sides after that, from memory Lockleys beat them earlier this year - could still get a double chance
Lockleys playing for 4th to 6th but come up against 3 of the top f in the last 3 rounds, unlikely to get a double chance. Win 2 and they make it.
Fitzroy - trying to get to 5th but highly unlikely to get higher unless Rosies lose all four and have a significant percentage drop. Have to win at least 3

IF - 26pts 75.94% – Rosies (h), WC (a), BOS (a), Locks (h)
BOS – 24pts 66.74% - WC (h), AV (a), IF (h), MP (a)
WC – 24pts 66.41% - BOS (a), IF (h), Locks (a), Fitzroy (h)
Rosies – 20pts 69.35% - IF (a), Locks (h), Fitzroy (a), Centrals (h)
Locks – 16pts 58.99% - ML (h), Rosies (a), WC (h), IF (a)
Fitzroy – 12pts 57.08% - MP (h), ML (a), Rosies (h), WC (a)

Don't give Centrals a sniff on 10pts with AV,MP,ML and Rosies to come?????

I would've thought still a silly chance on % "SHOULD" they snag the Round 18 game as you would expect the next 3 rounds to be % boosters for the UNITS........

Probably have the best run home but unfortunately are only on 10 points

that is a good run home IF you can knock off rosies last game..IF FFC lost 2 of its 4 and IF LFC lost 3 of its 4 and you gained good % from the MPFC, MLFC and AVFC games you could sneak in..lots of ifs but possible..

Speaking of time, was there time on in the A grade game on the weekend between Mawson Lakes v Ingle Farm? Game seemed to finish unusually early -
just after 4:00pm.

Not that it bothers me, i enjoyed getting home earlier :D

Decided to watch the clock a bit closer in the last and it only went 20 min. When Schelly asked the timekeeper why we only played 20 he told him we had been playing straight 20's all day, and no further explaination given. Work that out.
Now before anyone gets all defensive, it didn't really bother us at all, was just curious at the end of the game, that's why we asked. We were quite happy to get off early and go and have a beer with Knowlsey and the 3 Mawson Lakes players that were around the club.
Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts....

Just to publicly kill a rumour RE Mitchell Park losing our oval next year:

The Mitchell Park Sports and Community Club have a license for the facility at Moreland Avenue for 2015 and beyond as signed by The City of Marion based on a meeting on the 2nd of August 2011. If another football club was wanting to move into the facilities this would need to be negotiated with the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Club as they are the current licensee. This has not occurred.

Play on! :)

Any chance of a lights upgrade. It can be ideal for training from what I saw when I was there a few weeks back.
