Re: Channel 7 announced by SANFL as preferred telecast partn
So the AFL reserves teams have been televised in 30% of the available slots whilst comprising just 20% of the competition?

The allocation makes an absolute mockery of Olsen's claim that the 7 coverage will lead to a sponsorship windfall for the eight proper clubs.
Don't be so negative, I know North have sponsors falling over themselves because our huge chunk of no games in the first 10 rounds. We're turning them away!
Glenelg is ecstatic with all of the coverage they have been getting - apart from potential sponsors seeing how crap the Bays actually are.

Because only sovereign SANFL clubs are playing in the first week.

Because the SANFL and Channel 7 signed an agreement to only cover 18 minor round games and finals...

I think they would have if offered $1M as reportably the 7 deal has cost.

Yes, but the majority of that money was raised via sponsorship. The actual dollars spent from the SANFL was less for the 7 deal than what it would have been to get ABC on board again...

The Commentary Team has been outstanding too
Tim Ginever & John Casey have their 'finger on the pulse' when it comes to all things SANFL.
In terms of comments & insights - 2nd to none
In fact, I would go so far as to say; "Ginever's Commentary Skills are only surpassed by his Coaching Skills"

i have enjoyed watching them, and they seem to be a fair bit better than ABC imo.

Agree, certainly more polish on the Ch7 coverage, just need to get rid of Giniver and it would be even better.

Not a huge fan of him, but at least he tries to talk about the footy. That's the best thing about watching these games. Compare it to trying to watch BT on a Saturday night.

Given that the ABC are still televising second tier sports in other states are you assuming they'd have stuck their hand out for more to televise this year?
Unless you've seen the invoices I'm also not sure how you could possibly know that they've raised the $1M this year through 'sponsorship'.
