Agreed. It should make the business end a bit interesting.

gaza too recent strong form could save themselves from relegation, a big ask 2 wins behind 8th place but could be a tremendous season ending achievement

is it possible?

That's the thing with Gaza; I've always felt they're a better side than results have shown.

They were excellent where it mattered yesterday, and despite being 13 points down with about four minutes left, showed resolve to squeak ahead.

I think it's more than possible that Gaza can avoid relegation.

The SPOC and Adelaide Uni games I really winnable, I think. If they can cause an upset over Henley or the Gullies, they might just do enough to stay up.

they will need full squad fit and available to win what will be required (will 4 wins be enough though ?? as you can count Goodiesa as a loss)
i left when they were a couple of goals down thought they were gone, very surprised when i heard they got up later that night

There are currently three teams locked on 10 points. At this stage, all three sides are a win behind Tea Tree Gully and Salisbury North in 4th and 5th spots.

So there's a little something in most clashes from here on in. Any of these three sides can challenge for an Elimination Final spot, yet with losses and luck going against them, they may be staving off the second relegation spot.

Of the three sides locked from 6th to 8th, this the run home:

Portland has:

Salisbury North - A
St. Peters OC - A
Rostrevor OC - H
Tea Tree Gully - A
Henley - H

Adelaide University has:

Henley - H
Port District - H
Gaza - A
Salisbury North - H
Rostrevor OC - A

Port District has:

Tea Tree Gully - A
Adelaide University - A
Henley - H
Rostrevor OC - A
Goodwood Saints - H

Both Port District and Portland play four of the sides currently in the Top 5, while Adelaide University plays three. Would logic determine those games as losses? I don't think so.

Of the games against current Bottom Fivers:

- Port District plays Adelaide University (away) in Round 15,
- Portland takes on St. Peters OC (away) in Round 15, while
- Adelaide University plays Port District (home) in the aforementioned game in Round 15, and Gaza (away) in Round 16.

Can Gaza make things interesting, and notch two or three wins? As I said in an earlier post, they are a much better side than their win/loss ratio dictates, so it wouldn't be totally unexpected to me.

The big question here is, who out of Adelaide University, Port District or Portland is most likely to slide, and who is most likely to cause upsets?

i did the predictor and had gaza finishing 7th, and port districts being relegated

a lot of gaza's games are at home, port districts are playing pretty much the top 4 in last 5 rounds

Who will make up 4th and 5th of the final 5. Hawks and gullies can't seem to buy a win at the moment . Seems to really only be a 2 horse race for the premiership.

True, but although Adelaide University, Port District and Portland are breathing down their neck, will they do enough to steal a spot?

Also, I believe it's a new competition once the major round starts, and the Top 5 ought to treat it that way. You're only a loss or two from being bundled out.

its a big motivating possibility

the 3 outsiders all deserve to stay in div 1, good seasons so far (Portland, Districts, Adelaide Uni) be sad to see if one of them goes down

gaza not so much, but theyre month ahead could be a massive achievement

its a comp within a comp now, looking forward to the results

Bloody oath. There's nothing worse than 'dead rubber' games, where nothing is at stake.

Gaza won by roughly 9 goals, so I was told.
