Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
cash cant handle it, he's breaking down!!!! zzzzzzz
meanwhile currently there are 65 agrade clubs, this includes adelaide uni cgrade, and doesnt include wingfield
if league goes to As v As only, it must have a minimum of 64 clubs to have a division 7 because...
64 clubs + 6 byes = 70 placements (7 division)
if any of these clubs drop off and say there are only 62 clubs left, there cannot be a div 7 as therell be no where to put the 2 extra teams
there must be 64 clubs for 7 divisions, else there can only be 60 clubs for 6 divisions

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
So, how about something that is more optional and see what comes of it?
For clubs that field C and D grades etc. that want to play as high as possible; These guys could nominate for D7 when positions are available. Would be the lowest division available for A grade teams. This includes single team clubs.
For clubs that field C and D grades etc. that want to play against other C and D grades, there is D8 (and D8R) a division only available for C & D grade teams, not A grade teams.
The only catch is team numbers I spose. Haven't thought that through enough, it is a Monday. But if the essence of what I have put up is taken, then some gentle promotion/relegation stuff could take place to have a spread across the grades.
Wouldn't like to see a reduction from 10 teams in D1 to D6 to cater for D7/8.
Q; Top up D7 and D8?
A; Offer up some spots to the clubs struggling in the Southern League. (I'd assume there would be some openings in higher divs as well, given some of the issues this year)

hmmm im kinda doubting any of the div 8 clubs will be wanting to come up to div 7
i would also put money on betting that smosh, shocs, flinders park, possibly modbury will be requesting to go down to div 8
theres also mention of unley & rocs wanting a crack in div 8
this bundle of 16 clubs wanting to be in div 8 aside, div 7 leaves only MP, AV, north pines, adelaide uni & henley remaining in div 7
"5 sides"
now all my bullshit aside, the above frontier that the C9AFL is facing is very real.
if i died tomorrow which youd all hope, the above issues are still going to happen
quick fix - make a cgrade league only with 18 teams in 2 divisions, put byes into div 3-div 7, and allow new clubs such as edwardstown, blackwood, aldinga, marion etc etc to fill the byes
>> a little shuffle and suddenly the C9AFL has expanded with a new 9th division and possibly 5 new clubs in its portfolio

Or, more simply, promotion/relegation for C grade clubs between D7 & D8.

how does your pretty fix attend to these requests, your solving nothing mate
div 7 is facing having only 5 sides next year! - your fix is - oh 2 up 2 down - wtf!

I suggest we let marbles have his oopti ******* doop super C Grade, and then see what the opposition think when Henley still roll out their 3rd best side as their D's.

It normalises over time. Keeps clubs moving between the two divisions and prevents the situation of a club like Henley winning flag after flag after flag in D8 because they are too good for it.

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
marbles I was told that the TTG side currently in D8 is 20-30 goals worse off than the side that beat Henley by a few goals in the Prelim and lost to Mitchell Park in the 2012 D7 GF.
Once all the sandbaggers caught wind of another easy flag, Henley would romp it in and you know it.
EDIT: unless you include Adelaide Uni as well, which would mean Adelaide Uni would romp it in, with Henley the bridesmaid, year after year.

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
It's hypothetical. I don't think it would be good for your super C grade if it had the same top four or five, year after year.

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
the keys points as to why im encouraging my club to take this road, are not only relevant to my club but also to every other club with 4 teams
# Your juniors program develops massive talent, all at the end of the line to be pushed into a cgrade where your kids are set to be demoralized by getting smashed up by agrade rough nuts - is this what their parents want?
# Your surplus Div 1 reserve players trying to get an agrade game - instead get sent to a div 7 agrade league where your assets get smashed up and again demoralized by agrade rough nuts
# Your dgrade boys who have the talent to play C-grade choose not to, they just want a kick & catch on weekend, they dont wish to tackle agraders when theyre 35 years of age
# your devoted cgrade players eventually drop off because its just a shit comp, and we cant be f##ked being demoralised by smithfield & ingle farm anymore. your cgraders drop off because its an unattractive environment - your cgrade shrinks & your club shrinks ie shocs, broadview, flinders parks,
ALL OF THESE POINTS ARE RELEVANT TO EVERY CLUB WITH 4 SIDES & ARE PLAYING THEIR C_GRADE IN DIV 7
i actually need your support on here guys, for all the div 1 div 2 readers we need to come together a support a devoted league just for our cgrade, dgrade & under 18 boys and erase the problems above that we are all facing.

So for a couple of seasons, a C grade side hasn't been sitting top and suddenly you're being 'demoralised' by 'rough nuts'... Turn it up.

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
And why widen the gap of skill level between a club's B and C grade?
Henley has had a very successful D1R side over the years. Is this in part because their fringe players get a decent test in D7?

Re: VERSION 2: 7 Pure A-Grade Divisions
This is a strawman argument! You're making things up to suit your agenda. This simply doesnt happen! C Grades in D7 have always been competitive and have won flags!marbles wrote:# Your juniors program develops massive talent, all at the end of the line to be pushed into a cgrade where your kids are set to be demoralized by get smashed up by agrade rough nuts - is this what their parents want?
Many parents would be stoked to see their kids play as high as they possibly could and even against men as it aids their development.
Again, doesn't happen, and its the same point as your first one. Stop. Dribbling. Shit.marbles wrote:# Your surplus Div 1 reserve players trying to get an agrade game - instead get sent to a div 7 agrade league where your assets get smashed up and again demoralized by get smashed up by agrade rough nuts
The "A graders" you're talking about are in the same boat! If they're in D7 its likely they're old and decrepit and just want a kick and a catch as well. Hence why the natural normalisation of the divs has them there!marbles wrote:# Your dgrade boys who have the talent to play C-grade choose not to, they just want a kick & catch on weekend, they dont wish to tackle agraders when theyre 35 years of age
yes, you get some clubs which recruit well and "rebound" strongly, like we did, Ingle Farm and now Smithfield, but that happens every year, in every div, in every competition.
Then tell your c graders to harden the **** up and maybe play your actual best third side, instead of sandbagging and you would be more competitive.marbles wrote:# your devoted cgrade players eventually drop off because its just a shit comp, and we cant be f##ked being demoralised by smithfield & ingle farm anymore. your cgraders drop off because its an unattractive environment - your cgrade shrinks ie shocs, broadview, flinders parks,
henley have won 4 games this year. Modbury 5, Adelaide Uni are second! Hardly "demoralised". If you want to see that, come down and have a look at the dozen or so over the hill "A Graders" we have you utter pillock. You have no idea what the word even means.
NO THEY'RE NOT! YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG AND ARE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THESE FORUMSmarbles wrote:ALL OF THESE POINTS ARE RELEVANT TO EVERY CLUB WITH 4 SIDES & ARE PLAYING THEIR C_GRADE IN DIV 7

its all good for you guys getting easy wins against C-Graders, i mean another win for you - wicked - awesome hey
i bet at start of season you predict to win every game against the cgraders, & its a massive bonus for your club - wins bring revenue at the bar
and yourself Q are having a happy week cos youve just beat another cgrader - are you not just a little bit delusional right now? is your happiness a little bit derived from false ground?
mitchell park and angle vale are looking for a cushy ride next year, we'll go to div 7 and smash most of the cgraders and put our club back in high spirits

im sorry morell, your club has to start planning a season next year where you wont get 6-7 cushy wins beating cgrades sides
youre gonna have to find another way to develop your dwindling club, maybe face reality and be an agrade club whos got the balls to get smashed by your fellow agraders for a few years just like your SFL friends

The laughing stock of this forum is watching simpletons from their simpleton clubs refusing to play only each other, and cant stop crying because they no longer can cheat their way up the ranks with cushy wins against cgraders.

So you reckon that the majority of the 60 odd clubs are going to vote for 9 team divisions to make you happy ?marbles wrote:The laughing stock of this forum is watching simpletons from their simpleton clubs refusing to play only each other, and cant stop crying because they no longer can cheat their way up the ranks with cushy wins against cgraders.
