Think not tomo. How the hell can they let this happen. They could come from 7th and still win the flag. Staggered.
If they get any more suspensions they might not make the finals.
Look I understand the priors at Smithfield but the WHOLE club gets penalised for an indiscretion of an U18. Don't seem right. Sorry but the club has worked hard to get respect and have recruited the RIGHT players at the top. Surely it's about your A's, Smiffies have had issues for years so if the league wants to show REAL balls...... Kick em out. Not gunna happen.
We will be fine we have got rid of the 18's our a grade have been we'll behaved all year and that will continue along with the b's! I'll say again we WILL be fine
SMiffies have obviously been a standout in the A grade this year.
However, for them to even be here in 2014, they signed and agreed to a stringent set of rules arising from many incidents during the 2013 season. To my knowledge, I don't think they are the only club on such an agreement.
As a result of incidents coming out of an U18's match, the U18's have been disqualified from competition. The club as a whole has lost 8 premiership points and have probably been fined heavily as per their terms and conditions of their affiliation agreement.
This must be crushing to the A grade folk who have worked very hard to be where they are now but unfortunately they were aware of the implications of playing up.
Best of luck to Great Catch and our other Smiffy posters for the rest of the year. I'm sure they'll play hard but fair like the team we're all used to.
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit

Yeah, agreed FC. Good luck facing them over the next week or so, they'll be pumped.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Smithfield were approached by the Elizabeth under 16 coach pre-season who told them he could bring around 30 juniors to their club if he was appointed as an Under 18 coach, his interview was impeccable and his numbers at training matched his comments. Being a club that has had their juniors fall away, of course they would take the opportunity to rebuild, they sent 4 players from the team packing pre-season for being undisciplined during a trial match and continued to be heavy-handed in handing out sanctions for those who erred from the tough guidelines set. I'm 99% sure that the 18's will be scrapped for the remainder of the year and they will focus on what they can control.

That would not be very fair for the other clubs battling with North Pines for top 5 positions. I assume North Pines would get the 10 - 0 win on forfeit if it happens???
who knows if they play North Pines and beat them they may even eliminate them from the finals and not have to risk playing them in a final!!!
position 4, 5 and 6 may come right down to round 18 results!!!

I would just worry about what i can control at my club and not others.
