Still coming back from an injury lay-off and has being playing reserves. Reserves have got the bye this weekend

South played the crows state team in the sanfl and they don't have a reserves team so all south reserves were sent back to their local clubs

Crushers v the creek.Parry and 4 first pick players missing made it a hard task ,drop them into the side and it would have been a different result not to mention the drive .

In that case, just the one major for what most were saying was a prospective draft prospect/career sanfl player isn't that fantastic. obviously the sanfl or at least reserves isn't a great step up from A grade gsfl

He was 2nd game back from a 7 or 8 week injury stint on the sidelines. Cut the kid some slack, dropping down a level isn't as easy as most think especially for a forward. Delivery is more inconsistent than reserves level.

As we approach the midway point of season 2014, I'd be interested to hear what people's thoughts are on each of the 10 clubs. Yankalilla haven't threatened too many teams (despite a spirited performance on the weekend) and It would seem that Mt Compass are too far back in the field to challenge for a finals spot. Myponga, Victor Harbor and GPE are all a mathematical chance of making the finals but in saying that, I can't see any of the teams that currently make up the top 5 (Strath, Encounter Bay, Langhorne Creek, McLaren and Willunga) dropping enough games to lower ranked clubs to miss out.

The current top 5 being 2 games clear (top 3 being 3+) helps but obviously with 10 games to go and the topsy-turvy nature of the comp any of those 4 outside of the 5 are a show at stealing a spot in the 5. McLaren and Willunga the 2 sides in danger of possibly dropping out but the sides below need to find consistency if theyre to steal a spot off them!

I know at Willunga the depth is well and truly being tested and the inconsistent performances that have been dished up over the past month have definitely shown the side where they need to be. Victor got their tails up and put on a show in the 2nd half. On the weekend a committed, tough Strath showed our boys the way to play wet weather football. Improvement needed if we're to contend come September!

With Willunga and Mclaren playing bays and strath, 2 top 5 sides will have one more loss prior to the half way point. We could see pongy, Vh or Goolwa close that gap to 1 game at the true half way point then it's really game on. There's no reason why any club can't win 6-9 games on the way home. No single team has been ultra impressive

VH losing to GPE in the weekend was telling. After 3 on the trot another win would have had them knocking on the door (speculating that they could get over pongy this week of course) at the half way mark. Having said that I wasn't surprised that they couldn't get the job done with their lighter bodies when the conditions turned wet/heavy. Still a chance that someone could get a run on, but wins on the board are diamonds.

Going in to the game thought it would be an advantage that Willunga had so many talls out. With butcher, Thomas, cox & McGowan out. But your right 'bj' strath played harder keep it simple wet weather footy. Willunga struggled to have many ball winners get on top & not many targets up fwd.
Was impressed with new player fry at chf presented well & was dangerous at times.
It's seems to be very similar to last year if the top teams have a few key players out upsets will definately happen. Willunga as normal seem to be the only team with some decent depth to cover players out. Goolwa if they start hitting form would be the most likely to sneak in.
