How are clubs shaping up for round 1 in great Flinders and Mid west?? Ramblers and Central eyre would have to be favorites in each of them??

watched all 3 games first up great win by the tigers after being 5 goals down at 1/4 time, play some great footy in the last to get home, wont be writing mallee's off tho

the game at the Gary was a close on too waybacks kicked away in the end but rangers will be a lot better then last year and with burton still yet to play they can only improve

Tassie were all over souths for most of the day think the score board flatted south abit! still cant work out how someone from a team that lost by 50 points can win the Anzac medal

seen players get max votes from umps from much much bigger losses, including 20+ even 30+ goals ..... but i agree with ya!

What is so hard to work out if he was clearly the best then what team he was on should have no bearing, I recall Nathan Buckley winning a norm smith
medal in a losing grand final to the Lions and no one said anything.

Depends on the criteria of the medal being awarded. ANZAC medals are not necessarily awarded to the best on ground.

the great man Bluey talked up the Anzac medal winner in the paper today so I guess the umpires weren't to far wrong with their call.

pretty sure bluey would have talked up the boundary umpire if they had decided to give it to one of them.

My musings about the first couple of weeks of Lincoln footy.

Seems to me that this season will be one of the most closely contested for a long time.
Whilst it is still too early to make any great assumptions about this season, it will be interesting to see if the Wayback 2-0 start is something that will continue and propel them into the race for the top 2. My hope is yes, but i fear the Rooster and Pecker juggernauts are slowly stoking up.
In saying that, it is only natural that with the high end talent that Tasmans have lost over the summer, they will naturally come back to the field as they were clearly a 5-8 goal better team than any others last year.
My prediction is that the Mallee Park mid season recruiting surge will continue. Prouty in his write up talks about Matthew Johncock, clearly a very good footballer, is he back in Lincoln for good now?
The other 4 clubs are very even by the look, injuries and availability of players in the crucial games will be the key to the season in my view.

This weeks games will tell a story. Can the demons get over a team they have struggled with for a couple of years now! Sure the Eags are slightly depleted from previous years, i'm still very worried about this week. Any team with White, Miller, Jericho, Rowe and Sinclair should be OK.
Can the Tigers match it with Tasmans? Was the Tasman loss just an abbiration, surely not the only team that will struggle at Pecker Park this season. Can the Tigers improve again after a spirited effort last week?
Will the Peckers travel out to the 'Gary in strong numbers and take the points. Word is the ranger boys have a few coming back so should be interesting result.

Good luck to all teams
